He watches her sleep. Where does she come from, he wondered? His men picked her up after they took out the Demon.

She's been sleeping for an entire day. He smoked, watching her closely.

Her chest heaves steadily, the side of her face still slightly swollen. He should've killed her. The demon had no doubt brainwashed her.

She was her possession, and as such, would bring nothing but trouble, whether she meant to or not.

Was she the one? There were rumors in the underground about a woman who the Demon... loved.

Valued.

Her decapitated head would pay about 7.5 billion dollars.

Her womb? Thrice that. Easy.

He sat still, sighing. It was said that this woman, should she reproduce with the Demon would spawn something so terrible, it could kick Satan off his throne.

No shortage of people who wanted her dead. There was, however, a lack of people stupid enough to try.

He was one of those few. He hadn't meant for her to be there. It was unusual for her to taken from her estate.

Pranpriya traveled alone. She rarely brought her out of her little prison.

Still, such a valuable asset... what should he do? Get rid of her? Keep her?

Nothing? Could he do nothing? No. That wasn't an option. As it was, the Demon's body was not recovered.

A grievous error on his men's part. People would pay for that.

The spite lives the longest, but evil lives forever. It was probable, that woman was alive. And if she was alive... she'd be coming.

Not just for him. He stops, standing over the sleeping woman. For her.

What was she? Human? Angel? Demoness? Something in between?

An issue. For sure. An issue.

Jennie scrunched her nose, groaning, as she forces herself awake. Had he beaten her again? What had she done?

No! She was supposed to see him today. No. Wait. They'd gone on a trip. And there was an accident.

"Are you feeling okay?" An accented voice called to her.

British. Deep. Gentle.

She looked up, seeing a man on the corner of the room, watching her. A small scar rested on the rest of his eyebrow, his eyes grey, two eternal thunderclouds.

His pink lips rested in an amicable line, a small beauty mark under his eye, his hair dark and tousled rest on his shoulders.

"I imagine you might be scared. Considering where you came from."

She frowned. "Who are you?"

"Kai. Kim Jong-in."

"So, you're... are you a bad guy?"

He looked away, putting the cigarette to his lips.

"I'm not a bad man. But I'm not a good one either. I exist in that beautiful shade of grey. I'm between and betwixt. Either way, I will cause no harm to you."

"If you wish to leave, you may. If you wish to stay, you may. It is up to you. But you do have a limited time to decide. Ruby Jane."

"Why are you doing this for me?"

He put his cigarette out into the window seal. "I'm not. I'm doing this for a human. I imagine you've been thoroughly a host of pain. I don't intend to make it worse."

She watched him open the door, his back toward her.

"So, you are a good man then?"

His lips twitched up.

"In that beautiful shade of grey, there exists a certain... darkness doesn't it? But what makes it so beautiful, is the light blending, shining through it all."

"There's food downstairs. I would advise you to eat."

He shut the door behind him gently, leaving her alone with her thoughts.
