Ruby Jane stared at the woman who slept on her couch, her hands in cuffs.
She stitched her up. She had to. But she had to go. She had to leave. She watched her very carefully. She looked almost like a different person, like this.
Sleeping. Vulnerable. What had happened back then?
She heard the gunshot. She thought she was dead. Why wasn't she dead?
Her figure shook with a cough. She approached her cautiously.
Her body shook, sweat beading on her forehead. When she came in, she was covered in dirt, grime and blood.
Now with her face washed, she was unmistakable. It seemed like she was coming down with something, and something bad.
But who could she call? She couldn't take her to a doctor. Everyone knew who she was. She would be taken away if she brought her in.
Taken off for questioning at the very least. And what would happen to Taehyung then?
No she couldn't take her anywhere, but...
She picked up her phone dialing a number she'd only called once.
"I'll be right over." The woman sighed.
Jisoo came to the small house where the man she loved and the woman he married lived. She knocked on the door.
It opened, and she stepped inside.
"Thank you for coming," Mrs. Kim said softly.
She grimaced. "Where is the patient?"
Ruby Jane pointed to the woman on the chair who had worsened in the short time Jisoo took to arrive.
The woman reared back in horror and shock.
"What is she doing here?" Jisoo hisses.
Ruby Jane put her hands on her head. "The sooner you can help her the sooner we can get her out of here."
Jisoo sneered. "I'll help her alright. I'll help her into the after life!"
"No!"
"Kai would've wanted-"
"My husband would've wanted me to help," Ruby Jane interrupted quietly.
"But she has to go."
Jisoo gritted her teeth, looking at the woman. She looked more fragile than she remembered, but it was her alright.
Clear as day. Her sharp features, her frame was still bulky, though she seemed a bit gaunt.
She had a vial of something in her bag. It would get rid of her.
"I'm going to give her some medicine."
Ruby Jane frowned, but didn't ask. She knew though. She knew whatever Jisoo gave her would hurt her. But as long as she could say she didn't know...
Jisoo reached for the vial, putting it up to her mouth. Her eyes fluttered open, her brows knit. She could smell what it was.
She knew that smell.
She pushed it away, but in her weakened state, she overpowered her.
"Jennie! Jennie!" She called out desperate, her hands reaching for Ruby Jane. "She's trying to hurt me don't let her hurt me, Jennie please!"
She swallowed, the cracks in her voice cracking her heart.
"Stop!" She cried. Jisoo froze.
"Excuse me," Jisoo growled.
Ruby Jane frowned. "Just stop."
Jisoo sighed, straightening her back, calmly addressing her evenly.
"Then what do you want me to do, Mrs. Kim?"
Ruby Jane looked up. Something like fear filled her eyes as she stared at her trustfully.
"Jennie?" She asked softly.
"Mrs. Kim?" Jisoo prodded impatiently.
"Mom?" Taehyung asked quietly.
She looked at all of the. "I-"
