"Give me your hand," She demanded.

"Will you hurt yourself because of me? That seems hardly practical."

"Hurt myself? No. No you've hurt me enough. Tell me something," She took Lisa's calloused hand.

"How long were you conscious?"

She swallowed. "A while. But you know what, I enjoyed the fairytale while I could. But I think it's time this ends. It's time I go."

She looked down at a click. Watching in slow motion as Lisa started a flame with a silver lighter, dropping it at Jennie's feet. She stepped back.

Watching in frozen horror.

"You couldn't have done it," She smiled. "It's my gift to you. Clean hands, unstained. Take it, don't put blood on those hands, just watch me die."

So she did. Her eyes welled with tears as the fire began to swell. It was hot, but she wanted to see it through.

"Talk to me," Lisa whispered. "Talk to me, Jennie."

She opened her mouth.

"Let me hear your voice," The flames had begun licking at her flesh.

"What do you want me to say?" She croaked.

"Anything. Soon you'll have to leave."

Jennie watched her, so closely.

"I just... somehow I thought it'd never happen. You'd never die-"

Lisa shrugged, lifted her head. "Sometimes I did too. But this is the best."

"H-how do you feel?" She asked.

Lisa looked at her, cocking her head, eyes on hers with a smile. "It's hard to breath, but that's alright."

She nodded. She started to feel it now. The pain. "I think I really loved you, Jennie," She smiled widely. "Oh well. My world's brighter than it's ever been."

Jennie sobbed.

"Hush. Just leave. It ends here. I love you, Jennie. I love you, and that's okay too."

Jennie stumbled back as the fire fed on the house.

"This is how I want to die, Jennie. With you in my sights. Go now. It's not long until-"

Lisa coughed. She fled, no choice.

Lisa smiled as the fire roared around her. Things could've been different maybe. But not really. This was always her end.

She knew that. Water spilled from an eye, her eyes on the ceiling. As her skin began to be burned completely.

She'd never see her son again. But that's alright too. This was a fitting end for her.

For them. For everything.

She closed her eyes, succumbing to the head, the fumes the pain, the regret and sorrow.

And finally, the image that caused all of this. Her obsession.

"Jennie. Don't go."
