Jennie stepped downstairs, her arms around her body. People swarmed the stairs, watching her every move.

(A/N: Slanted words are not Russian but thoughts)

I have a stereotypical background, he explained when I asked. I was hit as a child. Do you think that is an excuse for what I've become? He asked blankly.

Will it make you feel better as I destroy you, to know someone destroyed me first? When I betray you and your trust, that someone betrayed me first?

"Stop staring at her like she's a circus freak," Kai Chastised

Do you hate what I've become?

Does it matter what I think? She asked.

He stated at her.

Sometimes, I look at you. And I hate who I've become. Я ...прости за то, что  я стал.

"Ruby Jane? Come on down, dear. Come eat."

She swallowed. "I have to go back. I can't stay here."

Kai observed her. He was such a beautiful man. She didn't think she'd be ever seen such a beautiful man.

"Is there any way I could persuade you otherwise."

She closed her eyes. "No. I have to go back."

Kai nodded. "Then I'll take you as I can. Do you know where she is?"

Jennie frowned. If she took him to the Brownstone, he'd probably kill Lisa. Not that she cared.

"Take me to a club. I'll give you the address."

Kai nodded at her gently. "If that's you wish puppet."

Sir paced. "Where is she? Where?"

"We're tracking her now, but the system is offline."

"How!" She smashed her fist through the wall. "How is that so?"

"Wait! She's moving! It's like... she was in a dead zone, and just walked into New York."

"She's in New York!" Lisa cursed.

The man winced. "No sir. She's at a place called... Lux's."

Lisa recognized it instantly. She stalked out the room, down to the garage. She hopped in her car, taking the hour-long drive to the place where it started again.

She broke every speed limit, racing to the club.

She barely let the car stop, hopping out, storming into the club. Under the racy colors, there she was, seemingly illuminated.

"Jennie!"

She knew who that was. She'd went by Ruby Jane, Her middle name since she was a kid. Only she called her Jennie.

She looked up. There she was, her brown orb eyes zeroed in on hers.

She stalked toward her, enclosing her heavy and on her arms, dragging her away. throwing her in the running car. She sighed, putting her chin on her knees, looking out the window.

She made the right choice. She couldn't abandon Lisa. She was waiting for her.

"Who took you?"

She envisioned Kai. the man who listened. Who gave her options.

"No one," She whispered.

Lisa slammed on the brakes, stopping the traffic behind her.

"You're lying to me!" She yelled, veins standing prominent. She flinched, making her sigh.

"How did you get back?"

"I walked," She looked out the window.

Lisa gritted her teeth. "Why did you come back?"

"You promised, if I was good, I could see him." She murmured, almost crazily.

She looked at her. How far she'd fallen. She was once beautiful. She'd done it. She promised she kill her.

And Lisa did. She was dead now. Dead to herself. Dead to the world.

Nothing but an empty husk in her place. Something squeeze inside her chest.

"I did good," She whispers to herself. "I came back. You promised. You promised."

Licking her lips. "I promised. But-"

"I did good," She repeated. Digging her nails in her skin. "I did good. I did. You promised. Promised."

Glancing at her through the lidded eyes Lisa drove them back to the estate.

"Jennie, just because I promised doesn't mean I will."

She heaved a short breath, her head robotically moving to Lisa.

She closed her eyes, digging her nails deeper into her skin.

She said nothing else.

"I will let you see him tomorrow. But you can't take any pulls. No pills, no cuts. And you can see him."

She started rocking. Rocking. Rocking. Silently rocking, blankly staring at her toes.

Lisa glanced at her. Broken. Shattered.

The only thing that keeps me human, is pain. And your pains hurt me the most.

Remind me that I am human.

She felt the blood rush through her veins. She could hear the steady beat of her heart. She smiled slightly, touching her skin lightly.

She flinched

"Good girl."
