It's been a while since you have a day off at work. After putting your casual short dress and made your hair in a ponytail, you put the cream flats then ready to go. The weather today in Naples is really nice so you decided to enjoy the city.
As you made your way you humming a folk song along the street. It was almost lunchtime but you know you have to go to a bookstore first. The book you've been ordered arrives today just in time with your day off. The book was very rare. Let's say you've been searching for whole four years. Thus make it expensive but worth it.
You opened the antique bookstore quietly. The clerk immediately recognizing your face since you are one of the loyal customers. And you, know the clerk very well.
"Ciao, Mia," greeted you, walking to the cashier. The only customer is you.
"Ciao, ciao," The clerk, Mia, gave her sweet wide smile while her hands reaching something from the drawer.
"I can't believe we finally got this book! I know you've been waiting, [y/n]," She continued, then placing an old thick book you know.
"sì! Grazie!" You squealed, couldn't contain your joy, hands clapped once.
"Grazie ancora, [y/n]. Grazie ancora."
You picked a small nice restaurant to have lunch. A little bit far from the antique bookstore but you heard nice comments about it so you might give it a try now. The dish supposed to be really delicious. The seat you were leading to by the waiter was in the outside the furthest one. It was pretty cramped at that time and you have no problem with sitting there.
After eating you decide to just stay for more cups of tea while reading the book. The warm weather was perfect to relax.
As you read the book you can't help but smile. This book was once helping you doing your assignment back in the university. At that time, a boy was lending you his book. He was a genius since he was in university when he was thirteen. You remember him to be quiet, polite, and kind. You glad you had the same class with him. But then you heard an accident that involved the boy. After that, you never saw him again. So you thought the book might help you keep the memories of him. Your only friend back then.
Even when you are reading you still have control over your surrounding. Since lunchtime was over already the restaurant become more empty. By the peripheral of your eyes, you noticed someone have taken a seat in the table by the left in front of you. Diagonally.
You don't know why but you feel like you have to take a look.
And the person you saw sure catch your breath away.
A pair of beautiful deep purple eyes that always seem to be in melancholy. Soft hair of honey-blond color. His whole facial expression which is so tranquil doesn't change at all.
You gasped a little, closing your mouth with your hand. Looking back to the book in panic. Come to the realization that you could get it wrong. Though it's been four years. Of course, he must be grown up so much by now.
"No way, I could be wrong," You murmured under your breath, closing the book but harder than you expected.
Which makes the man looking at your way.
"[y/n]," You heard he called your name in a familiar voice, just slightly more deep and rough.
Without you realizing it you already smile at him, "Oh my, it's really you, Fugo. It's been a while."
"May I?" He gestured to ask if he can sit in front of you which you nodded to. You put the book on your lap.
And though you didn't mean to bomb him with a bunch of statements you can't help it. This was too sudden.
"I can't believe I can meet you here! How are you doing now? Isn't this a little too late for lunch? You never change."
"I see you are still the same yourself, noisy," Fugo returned the smile gently. He become a real fine man. Even though you doubt his sense of fashion right now. Still, it doesn't matter.
"I guess I am," You chuckled it, "Why don't you order something first?"
Fugo nodded, "You're right, I was here for a coffee,"
"So, what are you doing now?" After the waiter leaves you can finally continue talking.
"I'm working now," Fugo placed his right hand on the table, "How about you? Didn't you just graduated this early spring?"
A smirk appeared on your face, "No, I graduated last year spring. I managed to do it all faster. So, like you, I am working too."
"As expected from you," Fugo commented, "I know you can do it."
You simply nod as the waiter comes to deliver Fugo's coffee. Before continuing the chat he took a sip of it.
He really is growing up. I guess I can't call him little man any more. Even though despite the four years of never meet each other again he still being nice to me. I wonder if I appeared as an adult in his eyes now?
"Are you there?"
"Uh, what was it again?"
Fugo frowned his brow, looking worried, "I've been calling you but you lost in your thoughts. Are you okay?"
"Oh, sorry," You took the teacup near your lips, looking at your images on the surface of the tea before sipping it slowly.
Fugo eyes followed your every movement carefully. As you put your cup back down, he will immediately look at your eyes again.
"It's just that day I don't even see you or saying goodbye. We never meet again since our conversation in the classroom."
Fugo cursed in his thought. He knew this conversation will come up but there is nothing to hide. You must be knowing everything when he beat the professor.
"I had to," Fugo folding his arms on the table, looking down at the bitter coffee, "I bet you don't even want to see me that day. Or even now."
"I've been searching for my little man everywhere,"
Fugo raised his face.
"But in the end, I couldn't find you,"
"Are you, um, not scared of anything?"
The question made you have to take a look at his face again. You can see where the question coming from seeing his expression. He must be thinking about it since long ago.
"You? Little man? No," You giggled which made Fugo's face hilarious, "Well, I guess you're not little anymore. If you mean the accident that day, I am not thinking about it. I just worried about you. You must have your own reason. Like, you're the most rational person I ever know. If you have to beat the shit out of him like that then he must be a jerk."
"Noisy," Fugo laughed, his head tilting to the side, "You're as loud as ever."
"Shut it," You pointed at him, couldn't hide the grin, "I become the quietest person in our class since you left. I'm not noisy."
"I see I missed lots of things," Fugo took another sip of the now cold coffee.
You let out a soft breath, leaning forward with arms folding on the table just like he did earlier.
"I missed you too, little man."
Fugo went silent for a second. Surprised by the sudden statement. He tried to find any sign if you were joking around. But after seeing your sincere expression, he knew that you're still the kind bestfriend of his.
He would think of you time to time when he had to leave. You charm him with your personality and thought of you as his closest friend. He was young back then. And now that you appeared once again, he realizes what kind of feeling it really was.
"I really missed you, noisy lady."
