Is this ending enough for you?
--- --- --- ---
You were doing groceries like any other day. A beautiful cold evening where everything has turned white. The streets were crammed with people minding their own business. It smelled like chocolate and ginger. The new year is around the corner.Around this time, you should've finished baking cake and making dinner. Today's menu was supposed to be sachertorte and steak cooked with black garlic butter. It was all on the plan and you'll chase it down with some wine until late at night. Everything has ruined.
You're casing your breath as you keep running with no sign to stop. The blond man holding your wrist also seems to hit his limit. The earlier scene was even more horrible that you almost throw up on the spot. Never once in your life, you face any kind of danger before. Especially kidnapping. Not by criminals on top of that. And now some strangers, who saved you, are still trying to get you safe.
It was thrilling enough on its own. You wanted to forget everything. The bloody scenes, the scent lingers on your nose. Machine gun shots out of a small mysterious small plane. A huge scary purple monster out of nowhere. Things out of this world.
"Hey," you breathed out, "I can't-.. run.. anymore..."
The blond turned around to you. To your favor, he does seem concerned after seeing your face complexion has changed pale. He stops and pulled you in closer while he's inspecting the situation behind. Maybe he saw his friend judging by his relieved face.
"Do you want to throw up? Come here, it's okay."
He led you to the side of the alley and rubs your back after bends you down with your hands to the wall. It's embarrassing and kind of humiliating. But he saves your life, everything should be okay just like he said. Also, all the adrenaline has got you dizzy since the very beginning.
"Fugo, how's her?" You heard a man talking. Must be the one with black hair and white suits. He was the one who ordered the blond to take you away.
"I see no other physical injuries than the scratches on her hands," the blond reported calmy after taking a deep breath. "She might have trauma after this."
'Good thinking.., Fugo was it?' You wiped your mouth with your sleeves. 'I don't want to experience this ever again.'
"How are you feeling? Can you tell me?"
His eyes were one of the most beautiful violet eyes you have ever seen. If it's not for your vision has gone black, you're probably going to keep staring at them.
Unfamiliar ceiling, foreign bed, headache, everything convinced you that you're not in your room and last night even wasn't a dream. You woke up and shifted on the bed to sit down right when someone opens the door. The blond, or maybe you should call Fugo from now on.
"Thank God, you're awake," he said, placing the tray he brought on the small table beside the bed. "How are you feeling?"
"Dizzy." You managed to spoke after a long silence and staring. Fugo sat on the chair and offer you a glass of water.
"Drink your medicine. We'll eat after this."
Without thinking much, you obeyed what he said. It should be the best at the moment considering your situation. You're not afraid at all. To be honest, you find Fugo rather comforting.
"I'm Fugo."
You placed the empty glass back on the table. He's watching. "I'm [y/n]."
A nice bath and delicious lunch later, you finally get to hear some explanation on your situation. It wasn't your fault for being kidnapped in the middle of the road and held as a hostage against your savior. You learned that your savior, Fugo's group, is a part of a mafia organization. It's not that surprising since they're all over the country. The most baffling fact you can't comprehend is the existence of stand power.
You learned about stand power. How they work and how you're supposed to not able to see them. It's not hallucinating either since Narancia, show you his stand again. The small plane you saw yesterday and called Aerosmith. And the stand of Fugo who caught you from falling, Purple Haze. Fugo apologized many times later for using his stand to catch you for a reason he refused to explain. It's another story.
Bucciarati, the leader, said they might target you again since you can see stand power. He also explains how not safe it is for you to go outside. The team suggested for you to stay with them until you can manifest your own stand and able to protect yourself.
Of course, you refused. So to compromise, they offered to protect you for the time being by following you around. It was Fugo's idea.
"I'm sure I don't need any more protection," you proposed, "it's been three days and no one attacked us yet. I really appreciate all the things you do for me. It seems that I will never manifest my stand."
"We can't be sure." Fugo wiped his lips after placing the knife and fork on the plate. "Thank you for the meal. The chicken was delightful."
"You have jobs out there to do. More important than just guarding me in my house for twenty-four hours."
"You sure?"
"Yes," you nodded and he's sighing.
"Can I wait until tomorrow morning? "
"Of course, I don't mean to chase you out right now." You raised a glass of wine, "Thank you for everything, Fugo. Let's drink and talk until the morning comes."
"Sure." He toasted to you.
You and he talked for hours. Not drunk, just drowning in conversation. As a college student, you're the first person he's able to debate about things. You learn a lot from him and comes to know how smart he is.
Fugo promised he'll check on you maybe three times a week. And maybe spend more time practicing manifesting your stand power. Though you still doubt it. You're an ordinary person with no interesting story to tell. Nevertheless, Fugo's very understanding and caring. You won't deny his companion, just don't want to burden him.
Both of you fall asleep on the sofa. No one really remembers how it ended up like that. Before he left, you made him a quick breakfast and a cup of coffee. Talking a bit more about the plan in the future.
"I think I really like you," you confessed as Fugo just stepped out of the door. "You make a great friend."
"If you're fine with a mafioso like me as a friend, then I'll accept the compliment," he laughed a little, "I hope to see you soon."
"See you soon, Fugo. I'll show you my best cake recipe later."
Fugo returned the smile and fast to leave your house. Both of you are still happy even when become alone. Exciting for the day that will come. Not noticing the eyes that's been watching for the past three days.
Four days later, Fugo finds your house empty and dusty.
