It was pouring when I wrote this. I had my tea and put the song Put Your Head On My Shoulder by Paul Anka on the loop. Thus, born this chapter.
--- --- --- ---

The night was still young in Venezia. The streets were empty, with no sign of people wandering around. The canal water was shimmering by the moonlight. By the deck, boats were neatly line up. Which was odd for one of the famous cities in all of Italy.

Except for you and Fugo, alone on the boat going nowhere. No destination in mind. Only silence. Fugo is sitting by the end of the boat, driving the two of you. And you're sitting in front of him, watching his depressing face. You can understand that face very well. As you make the same expression as him.

"[y/n]," he called. You can hear the sound of his voice was shaking even though he was sure he sounded just fine. It was his eyes that tell you how broken he is. "Are you okay with this?"

"Yes, I am." You smiled at him. It probably looked very tired, but it ease you when he smiled back. "I'm staying with you, Fugo. They can understand our decision. I'm sure they can make it. But you, you only have me."

"I'm happy that you're here with me, [y/n]." Fugo pressed his hands on yours that was already cupping his cheeks. He leaned in to rest his forehead, his breath fanning over you. "Do you think we can make it out of here?"

"We've been doing countless missions together. Only the two of us, together." The kiss you gave him on his forehead was enough for him to gain more strength. As he will be fighting again soon enough.

The strange situation that has been going on for hours in this city clearly wasn't normal. There's no way Venezia will get this quiet. Unless something big happened. Like someone important ordered this to happen. Yes, someone like the boss of Passione.

You and Fugo were parting way with the rest of the group a few hours ago. When everyone thought the mission finally going to be over, destiny decided to play fun. They leave to betray the boss and saving her daughter. Fugo stayed with his belief. So as you, stay with your love. Though you never confessed yet, as long as you can help him, you'll stay by his side.

Despite the loyalty that you and Fugo showed to the organization, it seemed like the boss is playing safe. You and Fugo were sure one of his elite team is going to hunt. Explaining the eerie atmosphere in the air.

"Can I hold your hand?" Fugo whispered as shadows were falling on him. It was just as he expected.

"Sure." You took his hand, holding it tightly than you ever had. You smiled again at him, before the two of you looking in the same direction. The moon was exceptionally beautiful, yet you know Fugo wasn't looking at it. Fugo was more a realist person. He was looking at the enemy when all you see was the moon.

The two of you jumped out of the boat to run away. Getting lost in the maze-like alleys of Venizia while also losing breath. The enemy was still chasing from afar.

"We can use your stand now," Fugo spat in the middle of his panting. "After we lure them, I'll call Purple Haze to melt them away with the virus."

You nodded at him. "Steel Guitar And A Glass Of Wine!" Your stand took its form right behind you. With its ability to lull people down, you hoped it works like the usual times. Even though if you were being honest, you got a bad feeling. Still, you don't want to lose hope. Especially not when Fugo was right beside you.

"Hang in there, Fugo!" you cried, carrying Fugo on your shoulders. He was badly injured and almost losing consciousness. He took nearly all the damages alone to protect you. It wasn't easy after all. They were far than you and Fugo imagined. You can see why they become the boss elite team.

After buying time to run away, you arrived at the most narrow and dark alley you can find. Isolated from the moonlight, the two of you sat against the wall.

"I'm sorry, [y/n]. I can't protect you." You turned to Fugo, shooking your head. He was smiling t hide all his pain.

"Not at all, Fugo. Thank you for protecting me." You hold him close as he failed to do it himself. "You did well."

"I wonder if they can make it," he continued, completely comfortable in your arms. "I hope Narancia doesn't mess up."

"They're going to be alright," you replied, the voice came out shaking. "But I, I only have you."

"I'm happy that I'm here with you, [y/n]." Fugo clasped his hand with yours. "Can you sing for me again? It's been a while." He coughed up blood.

"Alright. I missed singing to you." You took a deep breath before start singing. The song that somehow popped up on your mind at the moment.

Put your head on my shoulder

Hold me in your arms, baby

Squeeze me oh-so-tight

Show me that you love me too

Put your lips next to mine, dear

Won't you kiss me once, baby?

Just a kiss goodnight, maybe

You and I will fall in love (you and I will fall in love)

You keep singing even though the clouds moving to shines the moonlight down. You keep singing even though the shadows were falling on you. You keep singing even though Fugo's body getting heavier. In fact, you can only keep singing and keep hugging him as tears silently streaming.
