"You want advice," you repeated, pointing at yourself. "From me?"

"Yes." Surprisingly there wasn't any pause to his answer.

"I'm sure it should be the other way around."

"Says someone who brilliantly infiltrates enemies' base and discovers them all in months."

"Remember I accidentally drink spoiled milk?"

"That happened, I recall, yes."

"Fugo." You shifted on your seat slightly to face him driving the car. His stoic face is as iconic as ever. Extra cool today with a proper white buttoned shirt and rolled sleeves. Fugo's the one responsible to be your assistant on an earlier mission. "Am I qualified to give you advice?"

"That is a foolish question," he replied after a pause. Fugo turns around the car with ease, smooth like his hair. You can see from the strained veins on his neck that he's not calm at all. He's getting better at controlling his emotion, though, masking too much isn't that good either.

"Now that's more like you." Fugo glances at you.

"When you were absent," he continued, fidgeting his fingers on the wheel. He's relaxed a bit when you tuck a strand of his hair behind his ear. "I've been thinking.. a lot."

That sentence gives you a smile, guaranteed. When is he not thinking?

"Seems like you've gained some wisdom."

"Wisdom..," he trailed before making a not-sure gesture with his shoulders. "That's probably it. I guess I never actually tried to listen to others. I brushed them off. Once they're gone I realize something important."

"That is?"

"Being alone sucks."

"A new discovery for you," you nodded, proud of his new unlocked achievement. He did look more mature these past few days. Not that he's less angry; he's more human now.

"I remember what you said before you left."

That would be around 3 months ago if you counted it right.

"Five months ago..,"

You almost snorted. Would be a terrible thing to do at this time.

"That you're gonna miss me when I'm gone?"

He slouched to the front. Almost burying his face when he whispers a little 'yes, that too'. "You said," he mumbled, straightening his back again when the destination is within range of view. "There will be a time when something we've been looking for can be found in an unexpected place. It kinda bugs me so I looked for its meaning. After sometimes I know that I've experienced it before."

Fugo patted your thigh before he comes out of the car to open the gate. You understand his sign to let him do it. The safe house Bucciarati's prepared for you and his mission in the countryside wasn't the fancy-looking one. A small brown cottage, not-so-white fences, and a small garden on the side. You can see a pond there too from afar.

"Like how I ended up working for Bucciarati," said him, the first thing once he got back in to properly park the car inside.

You listen to him knowing you don't have to reply to anything yet. One side you find could get more recognition from him is how he maintains his focus. Fugo could run back and forth doing an important task while making fun of Mista and Narancia. He could do the opposite, as he did right now.

"It took an embarrassingly long time for me to acknowledge." Fugo looked at you for a while before going out of the car again. He ran a little bit so he can open the door for you. After that, he's running again to close the fence.
