EPISODE 26

~LEONA~

It was cloudy and the wind blew fiercely accompanied by lightning and thunder.

It was a sigh of a great storm. I looked at the cloud sadly.
I just closed from work later than usual and it happens that there was no available taxi. The coming storm made it worse.

I clutched my bag tightly as I walked on the street. There was no one apart from moving cars.
I tried stopping random cars but none was ready to render help.

I decided to start walking home and maybe I might get a taxi.
As I walked, I began to hear lighter footsteps behind me.

I turned but couldn't see anyone. I didn't make much out of it so I continued walking.

After some steps, I began to hear the strange steps. My pulse quickened when I turned to see my worst nightmare.

I could recognize him from anywhere.
How did he find me so quickly?
I doubled my steps and made to run but it suddenly began to rain making the street slippery and my heels weren't helping one bit.
He was almost close and I was trying to run faster but he caught up when I stumbled.

There was no way to escape as he was now hovering above me with that cruel smile.
I began to hyperventilate as I shivered uncontrollably.

He stretched his hands towards me but I knew better.
Lando won't help me with anything, he probably has a motive.
When I left his hand hanging, he glared at me furiously with a deadly look.

I grasped his hand that instant. He began helping me up. When I was almost on my feet, I received the heaviest slap I ever had and was pushed roughly back on the ground.

"I'd rather die than help you again Leona! All this time, I've been lenient and kind but not anymore."

He called all that he has been doing lenient? I was practically leaving in a man-made hell.

"This time, I'd show you what stuff I'm really made of. You're destined to suffer Leona and I'll make it come to pass. You really shouldn't have done what you did." He yelled and kicked me with his foot.

" I'm sorry Lando! Please forgive me and I'd never dream of ever escaping from you. I promise to always be obedient." I pleaded in tears.

" If only you'll leave to make it a reality." He brought a taser from nowhere and began to electrocute me.
It was excruciating, I cried till my eyes went dry. There were no more tears.

I kept screaming at each shock until I lost my voice. I struggled on the wet ground but the pain wouldn't stop.

"All you'll experience is pure torture Leona but in the end, you're gonna work for me than before and if you get arrested, I Yolando Suarez will never come to your rescue. You'll rot in jail and that will be your end. No one messes with me!" With that, he gave me a long press of the electric shocker.

I began to convulse wildly like someone who was having a seizure.

"No..no..." I whispered breathlessly.

"NO! NOOOOOOOOOO!" I SHOT UP FROM THE BED! I was sweating as if a bucket of water has been dumped on me.

"LEONA!" Raymond rushed in as my  baby began to cry.

It was a dream! A very terrible dream.
In the dream YOLANDO found me. How did I manage to forget him so easily?

"Are you alright?" Raymond asked me and gave me water.

I drank some and nodded. " I'm okay Ray. Just a nightmare nothing else." I assured him and picked Leo.

I acted strong and okay but deep inside, I was broken and shaken up.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, Raymond. Go have some sleep. I'm fine." I assured

After he left, I placed Leo back to the bed when he slept. It was at 1 am.
I couldn't sleep as the thought of the consequences I'd face when Lando finds me kept replaying.

Lando is a monster! He can kill me if possible but I'd prefer that to his torture.

I paced to and fro restlessly in the room till it was morning.
How do I escape Lando?
How do I protect my loved ones from him?

Lord have mercy!

I pretended to be happy around Raymond in the morning and I thank God that he wasn't suspicious or maybe he did but chose to be quiet.

I prepared for Leo and Raymond dropped me before leaving with Leonard.

I made sure I dressed properly to avoid any snarky comment from my boss so I chose a checkered matching ladies suit and wore white under the blazer.
After dressing, Raymond complemented that I was looking great so I knew I look great!

I wasn't prepared for any bantering with the CEO so after greeting him, I get to work.

We didn't exchange any words until lunch where I spoke to a nice lady who also happens to be a worker.
She said her name was Luciana but I decided to call her Ciana.

"So tell me Lioness, how's your new work?" She asked as I sip my fruit juice at the canteen.

"I'm yet to be employed, Ciana, I'm still undergoing an interview," I answered.

" My bad! Is he being nice to you?"

" Yeah, he's nice." I answered full of sarcasm.

" I understand." She said and laughed. I join in.

I love her already.

After lunch, we parted ways and on my way to his office, I was stopped by his secretary to give an envelope to him.
I took it and entered.

"Here is a parcel for you." I stretched it to him and my eyes locked suddenly on what was scribbled on the envelope.

From Mr. Lee to DAVE Anosova, CEO of the Anosova's Bank.

My jaw dropped as I fumbled with the next words I want to say.

"You're.... Dave?"

He smirked, " Yes. I'm Dave your future boss and you were my ROOMIE!"

" I..I..I..em.." I stuttered badly before shutting my mouth since I couldn't make out any word.

How the fuck is this possible?
