"Where's my son?" Kim asked immediately as I entered.

"Didn't you see on the news that he got released?." Charles snorted and Kim glared at him.

rolled my eyes silently. I didn't expect to see them at home considering the way they reacted to the News of their son's arrest.

"But he's not here, Charles." She grumbled and went to sit beside him.

"He's not a baby and remember Leona is still missing."

"Yeah...I didn't know that woman had a lot of shit going on in her life. How had she been coping and dealing with that monster all by herself? But Dave, why must he also get involved with them?To think that he seemed in love." She huffed and rested her head on Charles's shoulders.

"It's not a bad thing. How they manage to get over this is what matters. I just pray their life is preserved. No more tragedies." Charles sympathized with her.

"I can't believe that cute boy died just like that. He was so charming and innocent.." she began to cry and I saw Leona's dad descending the stairs.

He looked gloomy as if he'd been dipped in a pool of melancholy.

I walked to meet him. "How are you, sir."

"Far from fine. Where's my daughter and is it really true that..that Raymond is gone?"

"I'm sorry," I whispered.

He signed deeply and rubbed his forehead. "I don't understand anything. Where's Mr. Anosova?"

"He isn't back yet."

"Can we talk? I want to know everything."

It's not in my place to tell him anything but looking at his state, keeping him in the dark might kill him.

Besides, I also hoped to know something about the Grandes.

"Sure, come with me." I led him upstairs.

I've known this family before Dave was even born so I know every nook and cranny in their mansion.

I'd loved Dave right from the moment I set my eyes on him. I had quickly agreed to be his nanny since then because he was such a bright lovely baby. After losing their first baby, Charles and Kimberly were very careful.

That's why even though Kim is his mum, I am more his mother and he loves me. He has to. He even made me relocate to his house.

I walked him to the balcony and we sat on the woven chair.

"So ask me anything, Mr. Grande. I don't really know what you want to know."

"How does Mr Anosova come into play with my children?"

"Dave is Leona's fiance and the small kid you saw today is their son. Dave brought them to stay with him in order to protect them. You already know who he's protecting them from."

"How did they meet? My daughter never had a boyfriend and when she got pregnant she didn't know the father."

"I met Leona early this year and that was the same time he also met her I suppose. She was homeless so she kept sneaking into his house. After some weeks of not seeing her, she returned to inform me that she found her brother and that she's a mother. That's all I know for now. I don't know how Dave managed to be the boy's biological father because he hasn't told me yet but he's truly his. The resemblance alone is enough."

He sighed again and heaved.

God. This mouth of mine. I've said more than I had intended.

"What happened to you too? I learned you were kidnapped." I asked inquisitively.
