The one who was getting the cuffs around my wrists stepped back and I rubbed my wrist once again.

I can't believe this. Pablo is here and he brought someone so powerful. What did I do to deserve this generosity from him?

"Chief constable, may I know why you came here personally to ensure that Mr. Anosova is arrested?"

"Uhm...Sir...Max.."

"Talk to my hearing constable!" He yelled and stepped closer to him.

"Yes sir, what I meant was that Max was delaying so I came to ensure that the right thing was done. Yes. That was it." He answered nervously while the commissioner threw him a hard glare.

"Was that the reason!"

"Yes sir!"

"I will ask for the last time chief constable, was that your reason or there's another?!" He asked sternly.

"Well..yes sir." The constable looked away and his gaze fell to the floor.

"Show them the footage chief inspector."

What?

Max picked the remote and switched a similar digital screen on which showed the constable disguised as one of the workers in the police station. He planted a device on Max's door and came back for it when I came out of Max's office.

So he was the one.

"Commissioner, I can explain. Please hear me out..." Mr. Rogers started to apologize.

"Enough! " He raised his hand to stop him.

"You have exactly one minute to tell me why you did this and your time starts now!"

"I.. I... I didn't want to do it, commissioner. I was forced and threatened into doing this..."

"Stop speaking absolute nonsense! I told you to tell me your reasons not to defend yourself!"

"I was asked to do it, sir."

"And who's that?!"

"I'm sorry. I can't disclose.."

"Chief constable Roger I hereby dismiss and strip you of your rank in the police force!" He ripped his badge off instantly.

The journalists couldn't have enough of the scene. Cameras flashed here and there.

"No sir.. please don't do this. I'm so sorry. Please don't do this to me." He went down on his knees.

"Tell me who you're working for or else.."

"I'll talk. I will tell you, everything commissioner. Okay, Miss Katherine Cole was the one who sent me. I've told you now so please do not remove me from my job."

"For betraying the entire police force and disrespecting your rank and stooping so low just for some money, I dismiss you entirely. I wanted to put you behind bars but since you told the truth you won't be arrested but I will give you two minutes to pack whatever you  have left here and get out before I change my mind and lock you!"

He scurried away and in a second he returned with his bag and was out.

The commissioner called him back and ordered one of the Constables to take his uniform off.

He cried in shame and I really felt bad for him.

"Chief inspector Max I hereby appoint you like the new Chief constable. I'm impressed with your diligence as well as your honesty and I would like to see more of it."
