Chapter 30

[photo] - I completely failed at making the lock screen buttons with photos.

Ashley's POV

Cameron's dad sat down and stared at the ground. Cameron's Mom and Sierra called Nash, Hayes, and I over. I bit my lip.

"Is he alright?" I ask. Sierra took a deep breath.

"They found smoke in his lungs from the fire." Sierra said. I covered my face with my hands. Nash pulled me into a hug.

"Hey hey, it's ok...shh." He whispered. Hayes was looking at the ground.

"But they're doing the best they can to release the smoke from his lungs." His Mom said. Her eyes were watery. Nash rubbed my back.

"And he will have to use a breathing machine for the first week after he leaves the hospital. He's gonna be here for about 4 days. He won't be going to school the week he gets out also." Sierra said. This was the worst Christmas break ever.

"What about Christmas? Will he be ok by then and at home?" I asked.

"Yes of course he will, don't worry sweetheart. He's gonna be ok." His Mom said putting her hand on my shoulder.

"When are we able to visit him?" Nash asked.

"It's gonna be a few hours. Probably about 3 hours." Sierra said.

"Why don't I take you guys out to eat? Would that be ok? And then we can come back here." His Mom asked.

"Yeah, that would be fine. Just let me call our mom first, so she knows what's going on." I said. I walked over to the chairs and took my phone out of my mini purse. I looked over at Cameron's Dad. He was just sitting there. Starring at the ground.

"Hey." I said.

"Hi Ashley. How are you doing?" He asked.

"I'm doing good. Are you going to go eat lunch with us?" I asked. He shook his head.

"I want to visit Cameron as soon as I'm allowed to. It's my fault he went home. I wish I would've never him and Sierra in the first place. I'm such an idiot." He said.

"I don't want to keep them waiting and I have to call my mom, but can you explain to me why you left maybe when we come back? It's going to be ok." I said. He nodded his head.

I walked away and called my mom. She was pretty worried about Cameron, but I explained what happened.

We all got in the car and went to iHop (I couldn't think of another restaurant).

We sat at a table. I sat by Nash and Hayes. Sierra and Cameron's Mom sat by each other. We all talked.

When we finished eating we headed back to the hospital. Cameron's Dad came out from visiting Cameron.

"Are we allowed to visit him now?" Sierra asked. Cameron's Dad nodded his head. Sierra and her Mom decided to go visit him. I sat down by Cameron's Dad.

"So can you tell me?" I asked. He shook his head.

"Cameron wants to tell you." He said.

"Ok then." I said. I got up and sat by Nash. About 5 minutes later Sierra and her Mom came back. I got up but Nash and Hayes ran into the hallway before me. I just sat back down.

Sierra sat next to me.

"Hey Ash." She said smiling. I smiled.

"Hey. What did he say?" I asked.

"Well it's a little bit hard to figure out what he was trying to say, but me did our best to figure it out. He said that he really wants to see you." Sierra said. I smiled.
