Chapter 04

ZERO

"The next mission is here. Chan Gomez, one of the Pentagon's right hands is spotted. Base sa report ni Siyete, may transaction sila malapit sa town's mall. I assigned four Alphas for this mission. Zero, Uno, Dos, and Siyete," The Order stated.

"Yay! A mission with-"

"There's nothing to be happy of," I cut Siyete's words short.

I heard Uno and Dos slightly chuckled. Sinamaan ko sila ng tingin although they can't see it. They can feel my stares once I look at them.

"Hey, Kuya- I mean, Zero. Can I go shopping after the mission? Tutal malapit naman tayo no'n sa mall," pagpaalam ni Siyete.

I just nodded. I don't want to waste time talking such nonsense things. Ipipilit niya din naman ang gusto niya.

Paglabas namin ng mansion ay pumasok kami sa kotse ni Uno. We expected to run and chase that Chan Gomez so we didn't bother to bring a car.

"So, Kuya- I mean, Zero, what's the plan?" Siyete asked.

"Kill Chan Gomez," I answered coldly.

"Kuya- I mean, Zero, we need a plan! Ang boring nito kung walang plano!" she said.

"I already told you a hundred times, don't call me Kuya when we're in a mission."

"But Ku- I mean, Zero, that's a sign of respect that our teachers taught to us!" she insisted.

"Enough with the sibling quarrel. We're here," Uno said as he stopped the car.

We observed around and noticed a guy waiting from a dark corner. May maliit na eskinita sa tabi niya. Perhaps that's his escape route.

"Siyete, block all the ways around there," utos ko na nakaturo sa eskinitang nasa tabi ng lalaki. We'll corner you and make you suffer.

We got off the car and silently went near our target. We waited for the other guy whoever it is to hand him what they exchanged in their transaction. Some time later, a man with a jacket handed something to Chan secretly.

"Hey," as soon as I called, the two of them started running on different direction.

"Here we go," Dos commented as we follow Chan. We don't care about the other guy.

We ran fastly and chased Chan. Hindi na ako nagulat nang mabilis din siyang tumakbo. After all, sanay siya sa mga ganitong bagay.

We hurriedly chased him until he got near the entrance of the mall where loads of people are. It will be hard to just push others, I don't want to waste time touching the weaklings.

"Hey, come back here!" we heard a voice coming from the crowd.

Nagmadali kaming lumapit doon at nakita ang dalawang babae na nasa gitna ng mga tao. They helped each other as the one who fell got up.

"Go home, Janine. Thanks for today, ako na ang bahala sa lalaking 'yon," she said as she chased Chan.

Tumakbo na din ako at hinabol sila. I sensed Uno and Dos run along me. Hinabol namin sila hanggang sa makarating kami sa isang masikip na daan.

The girl stopped as well as Chan. She looked behind and saw the three of us standing there, her eyes widened in surprise. I'm sure she remembers us.

I attacked immediately and she was surprised. I can see her scared face. Narinig ko pa ang pagbuntong-hininga niya nang malampasan ko siya. Dumiretso ako papunta kay Chan.

He put out a small blade and waited for my attack. When he slashed the blade in the air, I ducked and delivered an uppercut to his face. Bumagsak siya pero nakatayo rin siya agad.
