Heartbeat 10
Nagkibit-balikat lamang ako at umiling.
I ignored her sarcasm and focused on checking if all the names of the guests were written on the invitation paper.
"Alam mo, Alexis. Kung may problema, harapin mo. Hindi iyong iniiwasan at pinagtataguan mo. Huwag kang pabebe, gaga!
It has been three weeks of ignoring him and three weeks of misery. I wanted to confront him, but my heart was not ready for it. I'm not prepared for a hard blow to pounce on my already shattered heart.
What we had was lovely, but only one picture broke everything.
"Anong kulang, Lena? Ako na lang ang kukuha."
I forced a smile when Lena raised her head to meet my eyes.
"Kailangan pa natin ng special papers."
"Sige."
Tumayo ako at isinukbit ang maliit na sling bag. "Ilang piraso ba?"
"Fifty pieces would do."
After paying all the needed materials, inabala ko muna ang sarili sa estante ng mga libro.
I was busy scanning the blurb of the book that caught my interest when I felt someone pass through me. My eyes landed on a familiar girl with shoulder-length dark brown hair.
Her red lips curled when she recognized me.
"Can we talk?" I asked.
I stopped myself from slapping that grin away from her face.
We made our way to McDonald's.
"What do you want? Food is on me," she coolly asked when we took our seats.
I rolled my eyes and stopped her from getting away. "Let's talk first."
Ngumisi siya sa akin. "What?
It's a picture of Andrei, wide-eyed, while Jinny's lips are pressed on his. Jinny has her eyes closed, but I can feel the burning passion in the picture.
