I've got the rest of the day.
Take your time.
I will help you walk.
Take your time.
Breathe with me.
Take your time.
I can help you see.
The trees and the flowers that have wilted but are still so beautiful.
I can show you how to see.
Every little detail as beautiful as I do.
Because no one notices the veins of a dead leaf, drained and dry. Cracking under the wind.
Look at the clock on the wall.
Take your time.
Look out of the window, what do you see?
A bustling city teething with life and blessed opportunities.
Or a world quickly adapting to life without you.
Because, in your head, you don't matter anymore.
Take your time.
See the world as though you were going to disappear at midnight.
Look at who you are.
Now look at who you use to be.
Do you see a difference?
Take your time.
Adjust to the sunlight.
Because it isn't too bright.
Take your time.
Open your eyes.
Take your time.
Feel your feet on the cold tiled floor.
Take your time.
Because I am here with you.
Take your time.
YOU ARE READING
Words.
PoetryThis is a book I write in to relieve my mind of the horror it creates for itself. Poems or not, they're words. Definitions or examples, they're words. My words. Read it or not, they're my words.
