Molly's POV*
It's been months since Reagan and I spent some time with each other. I miss him dearly. I just want his presence.
"Molly, are you ready?" My makeup artist asked.
"Yep," I replied placing my phone on my lap. I was listening to Moon River by Audrey Hepburn. This song calms me whenever I feel tired, frustrated, or just unproductive. And I'll always listen to it hanggang sa huling sandali ko sa mundo.
"All done!"
"Ready?" Tanong nu'ng photographer. I'm shooting for a famous clothing brand. I even auditioned for Victoria's Secret but I sadly didn't make it.
That hit me like a truck. It's only been a year since I first came here pero pakiramdam ko kailangan kong umuwi sa Pilipinas. I can't take this anymore. I am coming home soon.
"Hi sis!" Masaya kong pagbati kay Missy.
"I miss you," masaya niyang sagot.
"I miss you too. Teka, malapit na debut mo. Tell me your plans so we can make it happen."
"Same thing ate. I just want a simple party with our family and friends," she said.
"May place ka na bang nahanap?"
"Actually ate lilipat na kami sa bagong bahay before my birthday. I'm thinking du'n nalang."
"If that's what you want, sige. Just tell me everything you need. Ako na bahala."
"Yehey! Thank you ate!"
They're planning to move out of our house as soon as possible para makapag prepare sa debut ni Missy.
"Ma, ano ba magandang regalo for Missy?" I asked.
"She's been asking us to buy her a new phone at may bagong labas daw. She also keeps on asking us kung kailan ka raw uuwi," mom said.
"May driver's license na po ba si Missy?"
"She's about to finish her driving lessons next week. Maybe she's gonna get one a few weeks before her birthday."
"I'll come home two days before her birthday, mom."
"Talaga, 'nak? That's a good thing. I won't tell your dad and Missy so we can surprise them both. I love you!"
My mom ended the call. I am now on a mission of looking for the nearest flight possible.
Isang buwan nalang debut na ni Missy. I can't believe my little sister is turning eighteen. Parang kailan lang.
Reagan rang my phone. "Hi, babe."
"Hello, Love. How are you?" I askef.
"I'm going home soon."
"Talaga? Paano career mo sa New York?" He asked.
"I don't know. I just don't feel good here anymore. Siguro babalik ako pero I don't know kung para sa career."
"Whatever makes you happy, okay sa'kin. Ingat ka lagi ha," he said.
"Thanks love. You too. Bye na muna ha mag aayos pa ako ng papers eh. I love you."
"I love you too."
Reagan's career has been doing good ever since he came back to Italy. He has been busy with work and I can see how happy he is. He even makes sure that he has time for me from time to time.
With the help of Myca, I started preparing for Missy's birthday.
"I still don't know what to give her," I said resting my face on the desk.
"What is she into?" Myca asked.
"Well, she's going to finish her driving lessons soon. I was thinking of buying her a car but doesn't that make me a spoiler?"
"Molly, it's her birthday. Besides, you said that an eighteenth birthday is important for women in your country. I don't think it's going to be a problem."
"You're right."
As I was scrolling through photos of beautiful cars to purchase, I saw one that I wanted for myself.
"Oh that's gonna cost so much," Myca said.
"Yeah but it's my dream car! Besides, I guess this is the perfect time to use most of the money I made during my stay here. What do you think?" I answered excitedly.
"Well, you sure did go through a lot during your tiring stay here. You have been abused and stressed. If this makes you feel better, go on then." Myca said. It's true. I think I deserve to make myself feel special from time to time.
"Alrighty," I replied.
"Buy it if you have the cash!" She almost yelled.
"Okay?"
"What do you mean okay? Spend your money! You worked hard for it," she says.
"Alright. I'm gonna get back to it once I see one for Missy."
I continued scrolling. Maraming magaganda pero hindi pasok sa budget. I need to see one that looks perfect, and costs less than what it looks like.
"Myca, look." Myca stared at my laptop for a few minutes.
"Looks good," she said.
"Should I call the dealer and have the car reserved? Is that possible?" I asked.
"Look, I know you're not stupid but that kinda sounds stupid to me," she replied.
"What should I do then?" I asked.
"Uhmm bye it?" She answered. I sighed and started calling different dealers to get more details. I will be home soon anyway.
"Okay now to my dream car," I said grinning. Myca grunted.
"Hey!" I replied to her grunt.
"You do you," she said before heading out.
The Volkswagen Camper Van has been in my 'to buy' list ever since I was a little girl. I always dreamed of having one and driving it around town. I want it in pink and have its interior redesigned. I am buying one!
I finally have something to spend my money for. Something that I want, something that I know would be worth it.
I rang Reagan's phone to tell him about it. I hope he says something nice that would not make me think twice of buying it.
"Sounds nice. May available ba niyan sa Philippines?" He answered.
"I'm not sure but I found one that is sold by a collector. It seems okay and nice. Mukha naman mapagkakatiwalaan," I replied.
"If that's what you want, go. Just make sure to double check everything, ha?" He said.
"Yes. Bibilhin ko naman 'to once I arrive sa Philippines. Inayos na namin ni Myca 'yung mga kailangan ko for my flight and everything has been so smooth lately. I can't wait! Sana makauwi ka, love."
"Sana nga. One month pa naman so malay mo magkaro'n ng chance na makauwi ako, 'di ba? Let's just see," he said.
We hang up after talking about my plans of going back to the Philippines for good.
