Reagan's POV*

I woke up to the sound of Molly moaning. She looked like she was in a horrible pain. I woke her up to ask her if she was okay but she was in so much pain that I almost couldn't understand what she was saying. I dialled 911 as fast as I could.

I called Molly's mother informing her about her daughter's situation.

"Reagan, have you called the ambulance yet?" she asked nervously.

"Opo, tita. I already did. Any minute po darating na sila," I replied.

As the ambulance arrives, my heart started beating fast. My hands numb, feet cold, and head lighter than a feather.

After a few minutes of driving, nakarating na ako sa ospital. Molly was brought to the Emergency room so the doctors could check her. I waited outside nervously.

Moments like this make me feel like the universe is against me. I can never be happy with someone without getting hurt.

"Reagan, let's go. Nasa room na si Molly," tita said.

I sat beside Molly's bed. She's still unconscious. I massaged her gently while waiting for her to wake up.

Her mom, the doctor, and some nurses arrived to explain what was happening to Molly.

"Molly has a rare condition. Her heart is having a hard time to do its purpose."

"Is there still a cure to it?"

"Unfortunately, no. But we can give her medications to lengthen her life. That's all we can do for now."

I sat there for a moment. I didn't know what to think of. She's here but I felt like I was already losing her. It's painful but I had to endure it. Ayaw ko nang makita niya akong ganito.

"T-tita, please tell me she's going to be fine. Please."

"She will be fine, Reagan. Just pray and be there for her. All we can do now is celebrate her life while she's here. It's better if we're prepared for all the possibilities."

"No. No, she won't leave. That won't happen, tita. We can't lose her," I said trying to keep my voice as low as possible.

"Hijo, don't worry. We will do anything and everything for her. Everything, I promise."

Everything was nothing but a blur to me. I couldn't think straight. How could this happen?

The doctors advised us to stay for a week. She has machines supporting her weak body. I decided to head over to the hospital's chapel hoping to feel better.
