Chapter 32 - Home

Reagan's POV*

A month has passed. Molly has been preparing herself to go back home soon.

"Love, I'm ready na. I really wish you're coming with me pero okay lang. Ingat ka palagi ha?" she said on the phone.

"Of course love. Magkikita naman tayo someday. Basta kailangan lang natin tuparin promises natin, okay?"

"Okay love. I'll hang up muna, ha? Mag checheck-in na ako ng luggages ko."

"Okay, ingat ka ha? It's a long flight kaya make sure to take care of yourself. Have plenty of sleep sa plane."

The call ended. Hindi niya alam na kasabay ng pag hahanda niya sa pag-uwi ang pag hahanda ko rin. She has been telling me to go pero lagi kong sinasabi na hindi pwede for the sake of the surprise.

Mamaya pa ang flight ko. It'll be pretty long as well kaya ayos lang na nauna si Molly. We won't be seeing each other anyway. I'll be staying at a hotel na medyo malayo sa kanila.

I arrived at the airport nang kalmado kaso nagkaroon ng problema sa flight ko. Delayed ang flight ko. They said I'll be flying tomorrow pa. Mukhang hindi ako aabot sa birthday ni Missy.

"Is there any way we can fix this?" I asked the ground attendant.

"I'm sorry sir but we really have to wait for your flight tomorrow. There are no available flights to the Philippines today," she said.

I heaved a deep sigh. I'll have to wait until tomorrow para makasakay ng eroplano. Mabuti nalang may hotel na malapit lang sa airport kung saan pwede akong mag stay for the night.

Molly rang my phone as soon as I checked in sa hotel.

"Kumusta love?" She asked.

"Okay lang, pagod. Ikaw?"

"Boarding na ako. I just wanted to see you since hindi kita matatawagan sa plane later."

"Sobra mo naman akong na-miss. Kumain ka na ba?" I asked.

"Yes. I ordered food sa may kainan dito. Nabusog naman ako thankfully," she said. "Bakit parang iba background mo? Wala ka ba sa bahay?" she continued.

"Ah eh wala eh. I'm staying here for today's shoot. Hotel kasi ang location so I decided to go here early at mag check in para rin makapag relax." Palusot ko.

"Oh ingat ka, okay? Pipila na ako papasok ng plane in a minute. I love you!" She said.

"I love you too!" 

I have nothing to do kaya nag decide akong mag film at mag edit ng video to send to her mom para iplay kapag magpapakita na ako sa party. Para rin may presence ako ro'n kung mahuli man ako. I know it's Missy's party pero nakapag paalam naman na ako kina tita. Missy doesn't have an idea na uuwi ang ate niya nor ako.

"Hi, Love! I'm sorry if I lied to you. First time ko nagawa 'yun sa'yo pero sana mapatawad mo ako kasi para naman 'yun sa surprise ko sa'yo. I hope you had plenty of time to rest. I know how tired you are sa work and sa lahat ng pinagdaanan mo while you were in the states. If you only you have an idea how much I miss you. I didn't want to go back to Italy when I left the states. I finally found someone who makes me feel home and happy. Thank you so much, my Marciana Amorelle. I promise to stay by your side. Anyway, I have a little surprise for you and Missy. You guys are so special to me. You gave me purpose and I promise to not disappoint you. Missy, dalaga ka na. I promise to be extra protective as you're starting to enter the adult world. Nandito lang si kuya Reagan para sa'yo when someone hurts you. I got you! Now, please turn around in five seconds."

I didn't write a script for this since biglaan. I wanted it to sound natural kaya hindi na ako nagprepare ng script. Hopefully nasa mood siya once they start playing this sa party ni Missy. If hindi man ako makaabot, I made sure na may bouquet of flowers silang naka prepare do'n. The flowers will be given to Molly and Missy.

I sent a message sa mommy ni Molly para maprepare nila ang surprise.

"Tita, I prepared this video para kay Molly and Missy bago ako magpakita. Please play it once I'm ready to come out po."

"Hi, Reagan! Okay sure. Just send it here and I'll let the tech to do their thing. Nasaan ka na ba?"

"I'm here sa hotel po kasi delayed ang flight ko. Bukas pa po ako makakaalis dito. I don't know if aabot ako but I'll update you nalang po. I filmed that video just in case."

"Okay thank you Reagan. Have a safe flight."

"Thank you po."

I still have hours to wait. Buryong buryo na ako dito. Since may malapit na mall dito, I decided to go to the nearest mall to buy something for Molly. Oo nga pala, I haven't thought of giving her something yet. Akala ko naman kasi sapat nang ako na ang regalo ko kaso naisip ko na naibigay ko na pala sarili ko.

Kidding aside, I have to buy something for Molly. A ring? Hindi ba masyado nang common 'yun? How about a necklace? Common na rin 'yun 'di ba?

Habang naglalakad sa mall, napadaan ako sa baby store. Sobrang cute ng mga maliliit na gamit ng baby. Ito nalang kaya ibigay ko kay Molly? A promise gift na siya na ang nakikita kong nanay ng mga magiging anak ko? Kakaiba, hindi ba?

I asked the saleslady to bring their smallest items. This pair of baby shoes caught my attention. It's unisex, small, and really cute!

I got the gift already. Ngayon, kaunting oras pa ang hihintayin ko para makaalis na.

I bought wrapping paper and other decors to make it more customized. I want it to be more meaningful by adding my personal touches to it.

Molly's mom messaged me.

"Reagan, I got the video na. It is saved na sa flashdrive. Ingat ka sa byahe mo, ha? Malapit na siguro sa Pilipinas si Molly."

"Mabuti naman po. Matutulog nalang muna po ako pampalipas ng oras. Sana po successful ang surprise."

"Okay 'nak. I'm talking to Missy's event organizer . I'll talk to you again if may updates."

"Okay po. Thank you so much po."

Hearing your future mother-in-law call you " 'nak" is probably one of the best-est things in the world. Imagine being accepted right away in the family. It inspires me to prove them how much I love their entire family hindi lang si Molly.
