Ghost Of A Grave Mistake

In front of him was a orange figure, wearing a tattered dress with splatters of light, and over her throat, scratchmarks. He knew this face, but he didn't want to recognize her. Not after what Wendigo had done to her. His guts writhed as it finally occurred to him that the splatters and scratches  mirrored the injuries she sustained before her undeserved death.
"No... this can't be real..." L sobbed. The ghost of one of his victims was right in front of him, and he knew Daisy had arrived for vengeance.

And as much as he deserved it, he still hoped that she would give him a chance.

He cowered, lowering his head, whimpering pathetically like a dog. Whispers began to return to him, but instead of yelling at him, they cackled wildly. They knew what was going to happen, just as much as he did.

She began to slowly approach him, and he shut his eyes. He prepared for what awaited him. There was nothing he could do to prevent her wrath, and so he curled up, accepting his fate.

But nothing happened.
She softly put her hand against his head, no harm coming to him. He shook, slowly looking up, meeting Daisy's gaze. He was surprised to see that she looked concerned for him. Upset, even. Just like how she was last time they met.
"It's a lot worse than I thought. Luigi, I'm so sorry. I have no idea what came over you that night, but even in the moment, you proved to me that you really, really need help. I know you didn't let me try then, but I refuse to give up. You're my friend, I'm going to make sure you're going to be okay, at all costs," she glanced at herself and said as firmly as she could, "and I mean it."
L blinked. His heart felt like it was being pulled apart slowly, it was like some kind of emotional torture. She sounded choked up, and didn't even try to hold back tears.
"You... don't hate us?" He said, beginning to feel as if something was clasped over his neck.
Daisy tensed for a moment, like hearing him say that hurt her...

Again.

"Of course not! Ever since you told me what's been going on, I knew I had to do something!" Daisy burst into sobs, falling into a heap in front of him.
"I don't care what it takes, I want to help, Luigi..."
L felt overwhelmed. He didn't know what to do, what to say, or how to process everything.
"I don't understand... how can you stand to be around me, especially now that you know what I... we've done...

I'm sure everyone else wants me to suffer because of it..."

"You've already suffered enough!" Daisy cried. He was shocked to hear it. He didn't think he had suffered enough. Tears fell down his face silently. As much as it hurt his heart, knowing he has someone there for him this way gave him hope.
