The brothers approached the door, Daisy right behind them, with an umbrella in hand to protect from the sun. As L opened the door, he reached to turn the light off.

An uneasy feeling swept over him, and, without thinking, he turned the lights on again.
And turned them off.
And turned them on.
And turned them off.
And turned them on.
And turned them off.
And turned them on.
And turned them off.
And turned them on.
And turned them off.

L paused, turning to face the others nervously.
Huh. They're alright.
Mario put his hand on L's shoulder. "Are... you... okay?"
"Yeah... sorry, I dunno what came over me."
"Well, at least you're alright."

Mario smiled, but L detected worry in his eyes. He couldn't help but understand.
The three... or five... went outside. Daisy looked up.
"Nice weather we're having."
"Yeah, it is."
Mario responded.
They headed out to town, L taking a close look around. He was so used to seeing everything here shrouded in darkness, trapped in a frenzy of fear and, as much as he hated it, bloodlust.
But now, every building was awash in light, and colour. The town seemed so... nice.
But the thought of his past got him thinking, maybe what he thought was happening wasn't the true story.
He remembered the ghost he saw before everything went downhill, one if his few memories from that time. He realised that he and the other two were only violent for that amount of time, since he's been told that he wasn't that way before, and after the ghost was destroyed, the desire to kill didn't last for very long after that. It was interesting.

But that led to a conclusion that turned his bones cold. That must mean the ghost was a primary factor in the causes of the murders. That had to be it. It said itself that it had intended to make him a killer, but it must have known he wouldn't have, so it took matters into its own hands. Wendigo, the poor thing, L was so sure that he was the one doing it, but the spirit must have been using him to mask its efforts. But what about Beelzebub? The best guess at what happened there was the ghost manipulating Beelzebub into thinking that he had to convince L that this was okay? But if it was seemingly controlling Wendigo, maybe it was controlling him, too? All these possibilities, it overwhelmed him. It made so much sense. It made too much sense.

-"Love, please, don't overthink this..."-
But I'm right, aren't I?
He thought, careful to keep the question in his mind.
The idea of every one of these possibilities scared him, but he had to know.
He heard Wendigo and Beelzebub whisper to each other, but he couldn't hear what they were saying.
-"I'm afraid it may be, darling. We may not know for sure, but based on our own experiences, its extremely likely. Nevertheless, please, don't worry about it. Everything that happened then has taken its toll on all three of us... I don't want it to get worse. You don't need to dissect everything. I know you want to know every detail on why and how this happened. We all do, but I believe that its better for all of us if we don't burden ourselves with it. We've all dealt with plenty."-
