They sat near the covered-up statue. He looked up at it, not really knowing how much time there was until it was revealed to the public.

Someone sat beside him, but L didn't notice right away. He turned a little, not thinking much of it, and a violet-clad figure was beside him. L flinched, drawing in a sharp breath.
"Whoa, geez," the taller man said.
Mario turned, "Oh, hey Waluigi. Been a while."
"Yeah. Really."
L wasn't sure what to make of Waluigi's tone of voice, or Waluigi himself, for that matter. He seemed familiar, but something wasn't clicking. Maybe that's for the better, but he's not sure.

"Been a while since I last saw you, specifically, ferret."
Did he just call him a ferret?!
He dismissed it, suspecting that this wasn't at all a new occurrence.
"I can say the same..."
L responded.

Waluigi shrugged a bit, and L averted his eye. Suppose there wasn't much to say.
"You look like hell,"
Waluigi grumbled to him.
"Not  surprising,"
L responded, unconsciously matching the tone of the twig-shaped man.
He ran his tongue over his teeth. Still so unnerving, what he did to himself. Well, not exactly him, but almost.

"LADIES, THEYDIES AND GENTLEMEN!"
L looked up to the Toad holding a megaphone. Has he seen them before?
"I'D LIKE TO PROUDLY PRESENT OUR NEW AND IMPROVED STATUE OF THE ONE AND ONLY PRINCESS PEACH!"
A few other toads waddled into view, grabbing the cloth over the statue.
Unveiling it revealed a lovely image of the princess, and for a moment, he could hardly believe that was the person Wendigo was speaking to however many days ago. The gold replica of her had tiny flowers woven into her hair, and holding a bouquet of all sorts of flowers, spray roses, snapdragons, and others. It was a sight to behold. The shining colour was a little overwhelming. The cheering was so loud, he tried to bear it, but he was having difficulty.

L was beginning to feel off, but he wasn't so sure why. He leaned onto his brother.
Mario looked at him, the grin on his face dropping.
"Bro? What's going on? Are you okay?"
"I don't know... I just feel sick..."
He mumbled. He closed his eyes, feeling something in his gut, with a terrible taste in the back of his mouth.

What was going on around him, he didn't know, but it felt like he was being carried off.
