They talked for a long time. Wendigo had burst into tears as they did, but it didn't take long for his cries to become silent.

He didn't want to cry. No matter how hurt he felt, especially now that he finally understood, he didn't want to cry.
Eventually, they came out into the living room again. Wendigo frowned, looking at the floor. Mario spoke up,

"Are you doing alright?"
"I mean... I've been a lot better... maybe..."

Daisy sighed, approaching Mario. It was clear she didn't want to tell him, but he had to know. He shuffled over to the couch with them, where he and Daisy finally admitted to what he's done, and with it, the truth of how Daisy had died.

Mario looked distraught. Wendigo couldn't blame him. All of this must have been so, so different from what he was used to. Daisy told his brother about the slaughtering of people all around the Kingdom, and, of course, the emotional torture it caused L.
Poor, poor L. He never deserved this. Not a single person should have died by a hand that belonged to him, yet was controlled by someone so vile...
And how dare he be so vile. Beelzebub may have encouraged such evil, but it was him who really committed it. It tore L apart, forced to bear the memories of things not one person should know. Wendigo ruined his life.

Wendigo choked back a sob, tears falling down his face like an avalanche of suffering. Daisy and Mario looked at him. They both looked hurt, but was it because of him or for him?
Wendigo stormed away, shutting the bathroom door and locking it. He slid down the door into a heap. He began sobbing heavily and loudly. He sputtered nonsense as he tried to breathe through tears. It felt like he was drowning. His vision was blurry, and he was shaking violently. Eventually, he fell onto his side, curling into a fetal position. Dark wisps filled the air, but he didn't care enough to pay much attention to them.
>Wendigo...
He heard. Was that L?

He could barely tell. Not through his tears. Not through his racing mind. He put his hands to his throat, wishing he could breathe again. Everything was spinning, even the tiles, which seemed impossibly long, were turning with everything else. He heard what could have been L trying to reach him again. He heard knocking, like someone outside was trying to get his attention.

And then everything went dark.
