Chapter Fifteen: Armenia M.
James's birthday came and went, and he didn't really notice. All he'd wanted to get back to school and see Emily, Scorpius, and Trinity again.
They'd met at King's Cross and talked about everything that happened over break.
Eventually, time passed and it was February.
"I can't believe our first year's going so fast!" Emily commented on their way to Transfiguration.
James looked out the window and onto the icy grounds, "Yeah, I know."
"It's not fair that the third years and up get to go to Hogsmeade on my birthday," she said, frowning slightly.
"What day is it again?" He asked as they walked through the opened door into a room that contained twenty chatting students.
She glared at him, "How do you not know? You're my best friend."
At the words best friend, James looked down. His best best friend was a Muggle that just so happened to be his neighbor. Kelly Maufogus. She had blonde hair with cautious grey eyes. She noticed every little detail, which slightly annoyed James.
"What's wrong, James? You seem kind of... down," Kelly said, looking over at a tree, probably wanting to climb up it, no doubt.
James looked up, "What? Oh, nothing," he said. "You remember what I told you last week, right?"
She looked up, "About that school on the other end of-?"
"Yeah," James said.
Her eyes widened, "You're not going there, are you?"
"Kelly, my name's been on the list since I was born! Of course I'm going!"
"But what will I do? No one else actually bothers to hang out with me. Not like it's going to be easy to suddenly make friends this year. It's going to be harder."
James rolled his eyes, "If you didn't spit in peoples face whenever you think they say something about you, maybe you'd have more friends than me."
"I heard Thomas say that I was a-!"
"Kell, I know. I heard him. But what about Andrea and Urma?"
"Urma has a stupid name. She deserved it."
"For a stupid name?"
"Yep."
The memory startled him. He'd forgotten about his best friend who didn't even know he was a wizard.
"James? You really don't remember?" Emily asked, turning towards him.
"I've had a lot on my mind," he replied, taking out the essay that was due today.
"It's February twenty fourth."
"Good for you," he said quietly so Emily couldn't hear him.

"James!" Trinity yelled as Emily and him walked out of Transfiguration, "We need to see Professor McGonagall, now." (A/N McGonagall is Headmistress.)
"What? Why?" he asked.
She looked around at Emily. "Um..."
"Why?" he repeated.
"Maylaysia knows who killed her," she said in an undertone.
"Who?"
"Armenia Malfoy, Scorpius's grandfather's twin sister."
Thank you for getting me to #331 on the WHL. It means SO much to me!
