Benjamin's POV
I'm just here in the office the whole day. Katatapos ko lang na pirmahan ang ilang mga papeles na kailangang pirmahan. I'm holding this pen, at pinapaikot ko lang ito gamit ang aking mga daliri.
Nakatingin lang ako rito hanggang sa naalala ko si Ellaine. Ilang araw na siyang hindi bumabalik. At hanggang ngayon ay sinisisi ko pa rin ang sarili ko dahil doon. I blame myself for everything.
I should be a better father. Pero, hindi ko ito nagawa.
I just saighed.
"Benjamin..." napatingin na lamang ako sa may pintuan nang marinig ang pamiyar na boses na iyon. And I saw Lord Daucer there. I dont know but I feel little nervous when I saw him there. Pero, hindi ko lang ipinahalata.
Napatayo ako, at siya naman ay naglakad papalapit sa akin. He smiled, and I did the same thing.
"Can we talk?" He asked.
Talk? "About what?"
"About your daughter..." he said.
Wala naman akong choice kundi ang umo-o. So, I nod. I offered him a seat, and called my secretary to bring some refreshments here in my office.
"Why do you want to talk about Ellaine?" Tanong ko sa kanya.
Habang sinasabi ko iyon ay kinakabahan pa rin ako. Hindi ko ito maiiwasan dahil minsan nang pinagbantaan ng pamilya ni Lord Daucer ang buhay naming lahat.
However, I tried to make myself calm. At nagawa ko naman.
Palihim kong inoobserbahan si Lord Daucer. At nagtaka ako dahil para bang iba siya ngayon kumpara sa nakasanayan ko. He's just smiling and seems like... he is just treating me as his friend.
"Did the two of you talk already?" Tanong niya.
"M-me and Ellaine? No. She just... escaped in the hospital and I still cant find her."
"I see..." He seems calm. "Benjamin, your daughter... she's very sweet..."
Nagtaka ako sa sinabi niya. Pero, ngumiti lang siya nang tingnan niya ako. Mas kinabahan tuloy ako. Hindi ko kasi alam ang takbo ng isip niya.
"She's very sweet and loving lady."
Nang sinabi niya iyon, bigla na lang nawala ang lahat ng kabang nararamdaman ko. He just said that my daughter is very sweet and loving lady. Ang alam ko lang, palaban siya... na hindi niya hahayaang matalo siya ng kahit na sino. Feeling ko, hindi ako makagalaw mula sa inuupuan ko ngayon.
Ellaine is sweet and loving. I didn't know that.
"She likes those cute pandas and always wants noodles. She loves blooming flowers and wants hugs. Her eyes were bright as sunshine, her voice is soft, and she is very smart. She's simple, that's why I love her. For me, she's very special," he said.
Dahil sa mga sinabi niya, ramdam kong nanlambot ang puso ko. Hindi ko alam pero parang gusto ko nang umiyak. I'm now a man and a father yet I want to cry like a teenager. Why? Because I didn't even know her favorites.
Ama niya ako pero hindi ko alam 'yon.
"She's very loving, Benjamin. When they are in London, she's always telling me about you, and what she really likes to do with you when her memories came back. Ellaine wants to be with you. Being with her father during her speacial days? She wants to experience how it feels...with you of course..." then he smiled.
Hindi ko na napigilan. Tears already flowed out from my eyes. But, it seems like Lord Daucer doesn't care. Kaya, hinayaan ko na lamang ito.
"Sometimes, Revierre heard her praying. She wished that you are there on her side, to accompany her in remembering her memories. But, of course she understands because you are busy..."
