Jaehwa POV
“Jaehwa, I like you!” Minhyun confessed, holding out a box of chocolates to me.
“I--”
“JAEHWA!” I turned around to see my cousin, Hyunjin and my best friend, Eunhee running towards me.
“What are you guys running for?” I asked as they stopped in front of me.
“We...have...a problem,” Hyunjin said between breaths.
“What is it? I’m kind of busy right now,” I replied, gesturing to Minhyun.
“Sorry bro but she doesn’t like you like that,” Hyunjin said to Minhyun after collecting himself.
“Sorry Minhyun, you can talk to Jaehwa later. We really need her right now,” Eunhee added as she grabbed my wrist and started pulling me away.
“So you guys wanna tell me what this is about?” I asked as we got inside the classroom.
“We got info that Minhyun is trying to use you so of course we had to stop him,”Hyunjin answered.
“Well, I would’ve rejected him either way. You guys know I don’t like him.”
“Hey, shouldn’t you be thanking us for looking out for you,” Eunhee said as she nudged me.
“Alright, alright, thank you. I’m glad you guys care about me,” I chuckled.
“Hey Jaehwa, this is for you,” Dowoon, our class president said while handing an envelope to me.
“Thanks,” I reached out and took it from him.
“Wait! Who is it from?” I asked before he walked away.
“Not sure, someone in the class next to us asked me to give it to you,” Dowoon shrugged before walking away.
“Oooo what is it?” Hyunjin said, reaching for it.
“Hands off, it’s mine,” I glared at him as I held it close to my chest.
“Alright, chill. Open it, I’m curious.”
“Okay,” I opened it carefully and pulled out the paper inside.
Hyunjin and Eunhee both moved closer to me so they could see.-
Jaehwa,
I hope you have a good day today. Don’t worry about Minhyun, he won’t bother you anymore. By the way, I left something at your locker. I hope you like it.
Stranger
-
“Stranger?” I questioned.
“Oh? Sounds like you have a secret admirer,” Eunhee said, nudging me.
“Let’s go see what they left you before class starts,” Hyunjin said in excitement.
We all walked to my locker and saw a small bag sitting in front of it.
“Open it!” they both said as I picked it up.
“Later, let’s go before the bell rings,” I said before walking back to the classroom.
“Alright, I’ll see you guys later,” Hyunjin waved as he walked towards his classroom.
As I walked to my seat I noticed that Jeongin wasn’t there.
Is he not coming today? I thought as I sat down.
Just as I was thinking he wouldn’t show up, I saw him rush in right as the bell rang.
“I thought you weren’t coming today.” I said as he sat down.
“Who told you that?” He said while trying to catch his breath.
“No one, I just assumed you’d skip again.”
“Hey, I’m not that bad. I was busy this morning,” he said as he took out his books.
“Doing what?”
“Secret,” he said, giving me a mischievous smile.
“What nonsense are you up to now?” I questioned, raising an eyebrow.
“You’ll find out sooner or later,” he giggled.
“Okay….”
Lunch
Eunhee and I sat down with our food first. Jeongin and Hyunjin were running a bit late since Hyunjin’s class got held back for a bit and Jeongin was waiting for him.
“So who do you think your secret admirer is?” Eunhee asked.
“No idea.”
“Maybe it’s Minhyun.”
“Why would he do that?” I furrowed my brows.
“I mean, he confessed to you right? He’s probably still trying to get your attention.”
She made a good point, but it couldn't be. “Doubt it, he’s not that thoughtful.”
“You're right,” she nodded.
“E-excuse me..” we turned our heads to see Jaehyuk standing in front of us.
“Yes?” Eunhee asked.
“Um, Eunhee..I was wondering if I could have your number…” he said as he nervously fiddled with his fingers.
“Sorry, but I have a boyfriend.” She said coldly.
“Oh...heh...sorry, I didn’t know,” He rubbed his nape before walking away slowly.
“Hey, you didn’t have to be so mean,” I said.
“But it’s true. I have a boyfriend so I should tell him straight up,” she shrugged as she took a bite of her food.
“You--”
“Jaehwa~” Hyunjin said as he sat down in front of Eunhee and Jeongin in front of me.
“Why are you so happy when your class got held back?” I asked.
“Because I want the tea of course,” he said.
“About?”
“Your secret admirer,” He said with a wink.
“Ew, never do that again,” I said in disgust.
“Secret admirer?” Jeongin questioned with a concerned look.
“Oh right, I haven’t told you yet. I got a letter from someone this morning but we don’t know who it is,” I explained, turning to him.
“Do you have it with you?” he asked.
“No, I left it in the classroom.”
“I see...well, what do you think about it?”
“I think it’s weird. Like why would someone randomly give me a letter the same day Minhyun decided to confess. It doesn’t make sense.”
“Maybe it’s Minhyun,” Hyunjin said.
“That’s what I said,” Eunhee noted.
“Definitely not!” Jeongin screamed.
“It’s not that serious, why are you screaming?” I asked.
“I-I just think it’s not reasonable. Minhyun isn’t the type…”
“Well, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. We don’t even know what class they’re from,” I said before taking a sip of water.
