It wasn't free yet, but it was close to freedom.
It stood in a long hallway, and standing before it were meatlings.
It did not know if these meatlings were harmful though. It could smell fear in many of them, as it did with the meatlings who captured it. These meatlings were different though; just by smelling them it could tell that they were stronger than the others.
Still, they were no match for it.
It stood in striking stance in the case that any of the meatlings attacked it. It spread its wings and arched its legs back.
One meatling did something bizarre that it was not used to- it approached it.
It could smell that this meatling was a female, and something about her was peculiar.
It could smell that her intentions weren't hostile. So it eased up a bit, but still didn't let its guard down.
She stretched one of her limbs forward as if to touch it.
It still wasn't prepared to take any chances, so it bared it's teeth at her in order to fend her off. Yet she kept moving forward.
She then touched its snout, and what happened next confused it.
It heard sounds within its mind. Sounds that it had never understood before now.Hi
