Emerald was struggling to breathe; Greg had his hand wrapped around her throat so tightly, she thought at any moment her esophagus would be crushed.
Emerald heard the sounds of her other friends choking and gagging as well. She turned to see if they were okay, and what she saw stupefied her.
Holding each of her friends by their neck was Greg. It was as if he had duplicated himself and was holding them all simultaneously.
Emerald couldn't make out what was going on exactly."As I stated before, this subject endured being subjected with energies that surpass human understanding", Sari announced to the crowd, who were still watching silently. "One of the energies was tachyon particles; an energy that moves at speeds so intense, that it surpasses light speed. This here is a growing side affect to the particles that have now completely merged with the patient as-well as the other energy. The particles can move at speeds that transcend space and time. What is happening right now, is that he is moving at a remarkable speed that lets him exist in different points of space all in a singular moment."
"Greg... let them go", Ronald struggled to say to him.
"Greg please... what ever she's done to you... you can shake this", Emerald attempted to say.
It was no use, Greg's mind was too for gone. His eyes shined white, and his skin was steaming.
"As you may notice, his skin is producing steam", Sari added. "This is not from the subject, but from the air around him. He is moving so rapidly, that the moisture surrounding him is evaporating".
Emerald was frightened, not for her life, but for Greg's.
She couldn't stand the thought of him being a mindless drone who only obeyed Sari's command.
Emerald thought of anything that could get them out of this situation.
That is when her mind went to Drakon.
He was far away from this location, but if he could reach here and cause a disruption, maybe they could snap Greg out of his trance.
It was worth a try, and they had no other options at the moment.
Emerald called out to Drakon; hard to focus passed the pain, she still called upon him with all her might.'Drakon if you can hear me, we need you help. Greg is in trouble, we all are. Please, if you can sense my location, make it towards me'
She called on him with all of the strength she had left in her body.
Greg's hold on her was strong, and even if she could heal from her injuries it wouldn't matter if she was dead."As a display of control, I will now show you his devotion to me", Sari turned towards the Greg that was holding Ernest. "Beloved, crush his shoulder blade."
On command, Greg snapped Ernest's shoulder with ease. Ernest howled out in pain as Greg dropped him to the floor.
Emerald was near tears at that point, and so was everyone else.
She didn't want to see Greg kill his own friend, especially since he had no control of himself."Beloved", Sari said to Greg. "Finish him."
The tears started to roll down Emerald's face rapidly. All she could do was watch as she was about to witness the murder of her friend.
But before Greg could make it any closer to Ernest, a large explosion rocked the entire building.
Dust and debris flew everywhere, as everyone was knocked off of their feet
The explosion must have effected Greg severely, because his duplicates had vanished back to him.
The dust cleared among the stage, and what Emerald saw made her heart fill with joy.
It was Drakon, and he stood proudly on the stage before everyone who was present.
Strangely enough, on his back was a grey pit bull.
Drakon lifted his head up and roared triumphantly, and the dog situated on his back barked in conjunction.
