Greg was lying in the middle of his motel bed, unsure of what to do or even what to think.
His mind was filled with questions, and filled with just as much confusion.
Why did that woman's voice have such a negative effect on him?
What did Sanai mean when she said his eyes turn white, and his skin started to smoke?
One question was replaced with another, and two questions were replaced with ten.
He sat back down on his bed, still contemplating, until he heard a hard knock on his door.He walked up to the door and called through it, "Who is it?".
"It's Sanai", the person answered back.
'Sanai? Why is she at my door at this hour?', he thought to himself.
He opened the door for her, and saw her standing at the door with a tank top and jean shorts.
"Hi", she said.
"Hi", he said back.
"Couldn't sleep?", she asked.
"Nope", he replied. "New clothes?".
She looked down at her outfit and said, "Emerald and I stole a bunch of clothes for everyone, from the laundromat across the street. It's not my usual level of comfort, but it's the only thing I felt I wouldn't pass out in".
"It's not a bad look", he replied.
She could feel her ears turning red.
"Can I come in?", she asked.
He welcomed her inside and met the door shut once she was inside.
She didn't know whether to sit or stand since the only piece of furniture in the room was the bed. But Greg allowed her to sit on the bed.
There was an awkward silence for the most part as the two of them sat there, but then Sanai finally said something."I wanted to know if you were doing okay", she said.
Greg looked to her and said, "I'm fine for the most part... I think".
Sanai looked at Greg with concern and said, "I'm sorry I dropped that bomb on you earlier, I just thought that...".
Greg raised his hand up to her and said, "You're good, it's best that I know anyway. I have to figure out what this is going on with me".
Sanai day crisscrossed on his bed and turned to him saying, "We're all going through it at the moment, but I'm glad you're here".
"Really?", Greg said, with confusion.
"Yeah, you're one of the only two people here I don't find annoying", she said, while laughing.
Greg laughed too, and they looked at each other for a while.
They just kept looking at each other, until a simple look turned into a simple kiss.
