Drakon lounged peacefully in the cave he found for himself. The cave was humid, yet moist, and large enough for him to fit his entire body in.
It was miles away from the city, so it was well-secluded; he was deep inside of the cave anyway. He knew that no human would be able to spot him there. Even if they did manage to come close to his location, he'd be able to head them first.
He sat in the cave with his his long, reptilian body coiled in a circular motion. He wings were folded down against his back, so he could rest comfortably.
Drakon hates being alone, at least he started to hate it.
Ever since he became acquainted with everyone he escaped with, he'd come enjoy their presence more than anything.
Before he fell into his slumber, before the world was so different, he was always alone.
All of the creatures, larger or smaller than him, would flee in his presence. Those that didn't flee, would usually try to attack him.
It was a depressing existence for the dragon, but it was the only one he knew. Now that he finally knew something other than rage and loneliness, he couldn't even enjoy it.
Drakon still wanted to make his friends hapoy, and he knew how happy saying Emerald's name made her. So he decided to practice the rest of his companion's names.'Lunz'
'Luuuuuunz''Zunah'
'Zuuuuuuunahhhhh'He kept repeating these words to himself, attempting to annunciate his syllables with more clarity.
It was hard to do so, however.
His mouth and jaws were meant for eating, not for speaking. Nonetheless, he kept trying his best to speak.'Zunahhhhhh'
Drakon's roars were shaking the cave, but he hadn't noticed it. He didn't realize what he was doing until a stalactite fell from the ceiling and onto his head.
The spike crumbled as soon as it made impact with the night beast's skull.
It didn't hurt him, but it surely did irritate the dragon.
He let out an immense roar that shook the entire area around the cave.
Every creature within a mile radius scattered away from the sound of Drakon.
Even many of the insects flew away in distress.
Drakon was tired, he had been fighting non-stop for the past two days, and hadn't even sleepy throughout that time frame.
Drakon decided to lay his head down on the cave floor and rest himself.
Drakon was asleep for a few hours, the heat of the cave felt like a blanket for him.
The last time he slept so peacefully was when he had traveled to the ice-lands. Coincidentally, that very nap is what brought him to the new era he had found himself in.
If it wasn't for the deplorable humans that found him, he may have still been trapped within his sleep.
Drakon slept soundly until he felt a nudge on his nose.
It felt as if a furry object was brushing against him.
He opened all four of his eyes and discovered that a furry object was indeed brushing against his nose.
It was a four legged creature with a tail.
It had a long nose, grey fur, and was puny in size compared to Drakon.
Emerald had taught him what this animal was called.
A dog.
A descendant of forest hunters.
Those creatures tasted horrible, and Drakon had no interest in eating them. He had the same disposition for this animal.
Drakon and the dog stared at each other for a few moments.
The dog walked closer to Drakon and licked him on his nose.
