Sanai was restless; she was in her room alone and she had no one to talk to at the moment.
Emerald was with Lance, Irvin was playing tennis with Ronald, and she didn't want to speak to Ronnie or Ernest.
Suddenly she thought of Ahmir; she hadn't spoken to him much during their travels, but he was a very calm and collected person.
If there was anyone that she could talk to without getting judged, it would be him.
She slipped on some sandals, and she proceeded to head to his room.
She tried her best to remember which room he was staying in. She could recall if it was 607, 608, or 609, all she knew was that it was on the sixth floor.
She headed to the upper level and tried her best to remember where he said he was stationed, but her mind kept coming up short.
Not interested in spending all day pondering on which room was the right one, she tried her luck and just knocked on door 609.
She waited for a few seconds, until the door finally swung open.
The inside of the room smelled of marijuana, and Caribbean music was playing in the background. Standing at the door was not Ahmir, but instead it was Ronnie- the person she didn't want to speak to. Sanai didn't like Ronnie's presence too much. Everything he said was highly irritating to her. At times Sanai was tempted to kick Ronnie off of Drakon while they were flying.
But she knew that the others wouldn't appreciate losing a group member.

"Can I help you?", Ronnie asked, with a slight attitude.

"I'm looking for Ahmir, I need his help with something", she responded in a stern voice.

Ronnie cleared his throat and said, "I don't remember what room he said he was in, but what do you need help with?".

"I need Ahmir's help, not yours", she shot back at him.

"I was just asking, cause maybe I could help you", Ronnie said.

Sanai didn't think that Ronnie would be very helpful with her situation. He was very blunt about many of the things he said, and he could often dampen the mood in situations.
Sanai thought of anything she could say to him, but she just turned away and walked off.

"Okay, but if you ever need to talk just hit me up", Ronnie called out to her.

Sanai shouldn't have been so defensive with him, but she didn't fully trust him. In a fight he was effective, but other than that she didn't know much about him.
She headed downstairs and walked into a tennis court.
It was empty, and she needed time to be in her own headspace. She would've went back to her room, but she wasn't sure if Emerald was back yet. Even if Emerald wasn't back, she could've came back at any moment.
She didn't want to snap on Emerald on accident, but Sanai has a lot on her mind.
She sat by herself thinking of everything that was going on: them being on the run, her feelings for Greg, and now a power that she may have that could have fooled Greg into liking her.
Sanai's mind was filled with turmoil, and she desperately wanted to let it out.
She sat on the bench in the tennis court, and began to contemplate to herself.

'What if the pink smoke was something else?'
'What if I hadn't even used it on Greg?'
'Greg is powerful, what if it had no effect on him?'
'I wouldn't know what the pink smoke meant anyway, I don't have full control over my peers after all'

That last one was the most true, Sanai didn't have full control of herself yet.
She knew she could probably do a multitude of other things, but she didn't know what they were yet.
She couldn't even fly properly, and she hadn't even tried to.
That's when Sanai decided it was better to do something, than just sitting around thinking about it.
Sanai sat up from the bench.
She looked to the sky and concentrated on herself. She tensed up every muscle in her body, and squared down.
She then pushed upwards and jumped forward.
Instead of flying, she just performed a short jump.
Sanai tried again, this time just using her head to concentrate on flying.
She did this for about a minute, and still no flight was achieved.
Sanai kept trying multiple times using different techniques: superhero poses, running starts, flapping her arms- nothing.
Sanai started to become frustrated; she had no idea what she was doing wrong.
She attempted to make one last try; if it was unsuccessful, she would just quit trying for the day.
Sanai analyzed all of her previous attempts and came to the realization of what she was doing wrong.
Before, she was trying to fly through physical actions.
Sanai didn't have wings or feathers; she just had a normal human body.
If she wanted to fly, it had to be through something else.
In the labs, they'd always shock her in order to get her to fly. It would come through wires that they attached to her head.

'It's mentally driven, just like all my other powers'

With that thought, Sanai finally relaxed her body.
She closed her eyes, and let go of all the stress that she felt.
She began to fell her body get lighter, and the air around her started to pick up.
She opened her eyes and realized that she was high in the air.
She panicked for a moment; she didn't want to go so high in the air.
Sanai wasn't used to heights, and she didn't want to become a stain on the sidewalk.
That's when her body started to descend at a rapid speed.
Sanai's panicking had caused her to fall from the sky.

'Stop!'

At her command, she stopped falling from the air.

'Move forward'

Her body followed her instructions and began to move forward, with her body horizontal.
Sanai began to command herself to do other things like move sideways and in spirals through the air.
She had inadvertently caused herself to go above the clouds, but Sanai didn't care anymore.
She was flying; something that shouldn't be humanly possible, yet she was doing it.
Sanai flew high across the city, making sure not to go too fast. Her body still wasn't used to flight yet.
She still enjoyed it though.
She flew past some y'all buildings and over the Bay Area.
The feeling was exhilarating; all of her troubles melted away as the sun beamed against her back as she flew.
Sanai flew around for an hour before she landed back at the hotel.
Sanai made sure no one saw her. The locals would most likely panic if they saw a girl in a sundress flying around.
But Sanai couldn't help but smile at herself. She was proud of the newfound control she had over her abilities.
