Chapter 22
Not all the time we are given second chances.
That's what I realized after my first semester in college.
A lot of us passed and proceeded to the next sem but some was forced to find another school or shift to another course. They weren't able to reach the required average and like I said, there are no second chances for us. It's now or never.
And part of me felt sorry for them because I know that they did their best. We all did but I don't know if it's luck or just pure reality that decides for us.
There was a reshuffling after the enrolment and I was nervous because I thought I won't be classmate with Tina again but I was surprised when I found out that she's still my classmates and Nicus too! That damn lucky jerk. I found out he's courting a second year Med Tech who gives him easy ways and insider tips to get through the adversities.
I've been memorizing the code of ethics since yesterday and I can't master it.
"Go on."
Huminga ako ng malalim at pumikit. "I shall restrict my praises, criticisms, views, and opinions within constructive limits and shall not use the knowledge I know for selfish ends; I shall treat any information I... I... received-"
"Acquired," he corrected immediately.
"I shall treat any information I acquired about individuals in the course of my work as strictly confidential, and may be divulged only to authorized persons or entities or with consent of the individual when necessary."
He gave me a thumbs up. I continued delivering the code of ethics in front of him and every time I utter a word or phrase wrong, he'd correct me instantly. Nasa library kami at parehong walang klase.
"Nakakaasar 'yong PE namin," I rolled my eyes as I stuff chocolate in my mouth.
"Bakit?"
"Gumawa raw kami ng sayaw with boxing."
He immediately frowned at me and it was my turn to laugh.
I smirked at him.
He pinched the bridge of his nose as he shook his head. Mas lalong akong ngumisi dahil namula 'yong taynga niya. I don't know why that's his reaction everytime I go spicy like that. We talk about green topics sometimes and yet his reaction never changes.
He glared at me and closed his book. Mukhang hindi na makapag-focus sa binabasa. He stared at me and I know that look again.
