Jaebeom tried to get Youngjae to exit the bathroom for almost an hour, eventually having to resort to bribery. He ran out and bought some food, the smell drawing Youngjae out of hiding, but the hybrid refused to acknowledge Jaebeom; not even with a simple 'thank you'.
Initially, Jaebeom ignored the behavior; Youngjae was getting moodier and moodier as time went on, he should be getting used to his attitudes by now. But even after some hours passed, Youngjae kept himself perched in the same spot on the sofa watching TV, not even sparing Jaebeom a passing glance.
At first, it seemed like a simple issue that would fade away, but Jaebeom grew antsy. He didn't exactly enjoy being neglected, especially considering how clingy Youngjae normally was. Sometimes he felt like the hybrid was joined at his hip, but now as he sat on the bed with his laptop on his lap and Youngjae across the room, he felt lonely despite the short distance between them. He only attempted to talk to the hybrid once during lunch, and he received the cold shoulder.
"Youngjae... it's been a while now, are you still upset?" He asked, breaking the tense silence that had been fermenting for hours. No reply followed though, not even a small glance in his direction. Youngjae stayed facing the television, silent. Jaebeom sighed in frustration-- how long did he have to deal with this? "Youngjae, you know I don't like you ignoring me."
The hybrid remained silent as Jaebeom walked across the room, placing himself right in front of the television.
"Look at me."
Youngjae huffed, turning in the opposite direction.
Jaebeom's chest tightened, his frown deepening.
"...You always looked at me..." He mumbled, almost like a pouting child, marching his way back into Youngjae's eyesight. "...stop being dramatic and talk like a big boy. You're human right? okay, I acknowledge that, like I always have-- nothings changed! So act human and talk to me."
The hybrid turned back to the TV now that Jaebeom had moved, continuing to ignore him.
Jaebeom found himself growing increasingly agitated, though he wasn't sure if it was more with Youngjar or himself. He felt like he was making the best decision for both of them, yet the outcome seemed to be worse than he anticipated.
He let out a frustrated sigh, now speaking to Youngjae's back. "Fine. But you do realize you're stuck with me now, right? You can't always go and get mad that I don't give you your way, I'm more than just something you stick your dick in when you feel like it. I let you do what you want up until now, but I have to put my foot down at some point."
At that, Youngjae shot a glare back at Jaebeom.
"What? Am I making you upset? Well, I won't know if you don't stop acting childish and tell me."
The hybrid narrowed his eyes, huffed again, then turned back around.
Jaebeom felt like he was close to pulling his hair out-- recently trying to understand Youngjae was becoming more and more difficult. It used to be easy reading his mind and body language, now he felt more confused than ever.
"Yeah, see how far the silent treatment gets you." He snapped, turning around and marching toward the door. "You can stay there all day if I care, I'm getting dinner."
Youngjae didn't even flinch as the door slammed shut.
~~~
The two ate in the most deafening silence to ever exist between them.
He didn't know what he could possibly say, and Youngjae wasn't speaking with him at all anyway-- the invisible barrier between the two seemed to have grown thicker as time progressed.
