"Jaebum?"

The elder turned his head, spinning around in the chair he sat in as the scientist approached. "Hi Jinyoung."

"You're here earlier than me..." Jinyoung mumbled as he set a few bags of things down onto a nearby table. "Normally I power things up in here, I was surprised someone got here before me."

"Well I wanted to see Youngjae, surprisingly he's still asleep." Jaebum replied.

"This early though?" Jinyoung frowned, shaking his head. "But Youngjae's a late sleeper, it's weird you don't know that."

"I'm sorry I haven't been able to study his sleeping habits, give me a break." Jaebum groaned with the roll of his eyes.

"Okay..." Jinyoung mumbled, figuring Jaebum was probably a bit cranky due to not exatly being a morning person. "Well, I've got some things to work on so... I'm sure if you go near his cage he'll smell you and wake right up so you can make yourself useful while I work."

"Go ahead." Jaebum nodded. "But first Jinyoung... how much have you taught him so far?"

Jinyoung hummed as he remembered back to the few times he sat down and actually taught the hybrid something. "Well, we taught him how to speak, but he picked up a lot of the language on his own. We taught him random things, animals, foods, that kinda stuff. And some things Youngjae got from overhearing us talk openly in the lab so, I'm not exactly sure of everything he knows. There's just a lot to teach so he kinda knows random, unrelated things..."

"So that means I have a lot of work to do..." Jaebum summed up, sighing at the poor method of teaching.

Jinyoung just shrugged. "We're scientists not teachers."

"Ugh you just made it more work for me though!" Jaebum groaned while dropping his head on the back of the chair.

"I believe in you!" Jinyoung cheered, giving Jaebum a finger heart before running off to begin his own duties for the day.

Jaebum sighed again, rubbing his sleepy eyes before standing up. He walked over to the nearby wall and picked up a large stack of boxes that were adjacent to it before heading back to Youngjae's cage.

Jinyoung caught a glimpse of Jaebum carrying the mystery items, his brows furrowed in confusion. "Woah woah, I just noticed those boxes? What is that?"

Jaebum paused, looking down at the box. "This? Oh, it's a bed."

"A... whole bed?" Jinyoung asked in disbelief.

"No, like just the cushiony mattress part, I can't afford a whole bed but, I was able to spare a mattress off my own bed and I brought it."

"For who?"

"Youngjae, duh." Jaebum answered, receiving a crazy look from Jinyoung in response. "What? He sleeps on the cold metal cage floor! The least you could do is provide him some comfortable things to lay on!"

"He tore up the blankets and mattresses we gave him before out of anger, so we decided to not give him anything in fear that he'll swallow a part of it and suffocate himself to death." Jinyoung replied.

"He's not dumb enough to swallow something unedible, and I think he's much better tempered now."

"Really?" Jinyoung asked, tone full of sarcasm.

Jaebum sighed, rolling his eyes at the other.  "Okay well... he had a tiny bit of a temper, but you should see how he gets around me! He's so cute! You just wouldn't understand because he doesn't like you~"

"Whatever. Just don't keep making drastic changes, the last thing I need is my lab turning into a living space." Jinyoung replied, waving the elder off.
