"Are you seriously upset about it?"
Youngjae nodded, a pout resting on his lips. "I wanted to do it last night..."
Jaebeom briefly took his eyes off the road to glance at him, letting out an exasperated sigh. "Don't pout. I let you touch me anyway."
"Yeah, but I wanted to put it in..."
"There's literally no space! You're huge, and I'm not the smallest person either, it would've been uncomfortable."
"We can do it outside?"
"I'm not into exhibitionism, thanks."
"Exi-what?"
"Nothing. We'll do it again some other time."
Youngjae's eyes lit up, his lips curling into an excited smile. "Is that a promise?"
"If I promise you'll never let it go."
"Make it a promise!"
Jaebeom was hesitant to answer, though he could practically feel Youngjae's big golden eyes burning holes into his skin. He felt a blush coming on, shaking his head. "Fine, fine... I promise..."
"Yes!" The hybrid happily cheered.
Jaebeom chuckled lightly at his excitement, though he knew he would never live down that agreement. He decided not to dwell on it and worry about it whenever the time came. "So, when we hit the next town in a few hours, what do you feel like eating?"
"You."
"Youngjae."
The hybrid sighed, gazing out the window at the hills and vast expanse of basically nothing that rushed by. "Anything. I'm so hungry."
"I know you are. Luckily I still have some snacks in the back." Jaebeom awkwardly reached back behind Youngjae's seat with his eyes still faced front, blindly searching for his stash of snacks. His hand finally landed on the bag full of various food items, pulling out the first thing he touched which happened to be a bag of chips, handing them to Youngjae. "Let that hold you over."
The hybrid examined the bag, eventually letting out another sigh. "Fine..."
The sound of crinkling and the smell of potato chips filled the car as Youngjae opened the bag, shoving handfuls into his mouth at a time. He made a bit of a mess but Jaebeom found it all too cute to worry about-- he'll just have to get his car cleaned one day.
Driving with Youngjae for these long spans of time had actually been calming. When they started on this journey, Jaebeom was worried that the hybrid wouldn't be able to handle being still for long periods of time-- which he wasn't. But regardless of the constant fidgeting and occasional whining that the car was too small for his legs, it was fun spending so much time with Youngjae and nothing to disturb them.
He liked glancing over and seeing the hybrid gazing out the window, his eyes catching on things he'd never seen before like large billboards or other animals in farms they passed by. Sometimes he would ask questions and Jaebeom would find his curiosity adorable. It was times like these that he loved most, where they could relax and simply enjoy one another's company.
"I was thinking." Youngjae suddenly interrupted the calming silence, his eyes shifting from the window over to Jaebeom.
Jaebeom hummed, slowly nodding. "That's... a good thing, I guess? Care to elaborate?"
"I was thinking about how much I like the way my chest gets warm when I look at you." The hybrid explained, his hand rising to where his heart resided. "Like, watching you work the car looks cool. It makes me want to kiss you and stuff..."
