Jaebeom strolled through the grocery store later on in the day, leaving Youngjae in the motel. He was randomly reminded of what they had done earlier that morning-- the suddenness of it still baffling him.

He wasn't in the right mindset at the time to even think to ask why Youngjae suddenly insisted on doing... that-- mostly because he was stuck in a daze after his orgasm and needed a while to pull himself together. By that point, Youngjae was already onto the next subject, asking for some breakfast that Jaebeom realized he didn't have.

He ended up giving the hybrid the last of his leftover food from the night before to hold him while he went shopping.

He carried a basket full of mostly snack food and sandwich stuff since cooking on the run was going to be difficult; he didn't plan on buying a lot, but enough to hold them for a little while-- his basket was already getting quite heavy though.

While looking amongst some drinks to purchase, he decided to make a quick call that he'd been avoiding since yesterday evening.

The phone rang a few times; Jaebeom was slightly worried he wouldn't answer an unknown number.

He was relieved to suddenly hear a click and noise on the other end. "Hello?"

"Hey, it's Jaebeom..."

"Jae-!" Jinyoung cut himself off with a heavy breath. Jaebeom could hear his quick footsteps through the phone and the sound of a large door closing before he spoke again. "Don't you just 'hey' me! Where the hell are you!?"

"I'm uh... off grid I suppose." Jaebeom replied; he never thought he'd be saying those exact words he's heard only in movies, so he chuckled a little at himself.

Jinyoung wasn't exactly having it at the moment. "You're in massive trouble! Everyone's on the lookout for you! What idiot steals a hybrid with cameras everywhere?"

Jaebeom flinched at the voice screeching in his ear; it felt like he was being scolded by his mother. "I know, I know... I should've at least told you before I did it but... you would have stopped me..."

"Damn right I would have!" Jinyoung retorted. A heavy sigh came through the phone, a bit of silence following before Jinyoung spoke again. "This is a burner phone you're using, correct?"

"Yeah... I shut off my personal one just in case."

"Good, that's good..." More silence. Jaebeom considered buying the strawberry milk he was eyeing while waiting for Jinyoung to get all his complaining out. "...How far away are you?"

"I dunno. Drove for a while before stopping, so pretty far I would guess. We're laying low for a bit before we hit the road again."

"Jaebeom, what is your plan? Yugyeom is furious. Everyone here is going crazy. At first sneaking Youngjae out of the lab was a whole mess of confusion, now pretty much everyone knows that you stole him."

Jaebeom ran a hand through his hair-- he knew full and well that he didn't plan any of this out. Why he thought taking Youngjae from a lab and bringing him home would be easy; he had no idea. Now he had to come up with something with no time to waste or else he'd be caught and in loads of trouble. "I know, just-- I need time to make a plan. I wanna travel somewhere to a secluded place maybe; then figure something out I guess..."

More silence followed. Jaebeom assumed Jinyoung was preparing to scold him some more even though he already knew it was a stupid plan.

"So... I won't see you again?"

The softness of the scientist's voice caught him off guard, Jaebeom nearly tripped. Though, he suddenly realized that this may only be a one way trip at this point-- he's really dedicated everything to Youngjae, going back wasn't an option right now. Maybe ever.
