Jaebeom spent a good majority of the days they spent at the motel searching through maps online to plan out his route. He's never exactly ran away with stolen property unplanned before, so he felt quite out of his element. He had no idea exactly where he was going, but it needed to be somewhere he could keep them hidden, and keep Youngjae healthy, until he figured out a more thorough plan.
He had been perched on the sofa for hours at this point, writing in one of his notebooks possible locations, expenses, travel times, and estimations of how well Youngjae might fare while on the road. There was a lot to consider, and at this point Jaebeom had to take into account everything.
"What are you doing?"
Jaebeom jolted out of his focus, glancing back at the hybrid that hovered over his shoulder before returning his gaze to his laptop screen. He'd been so caught up in his planning that he hadn't paid Youngjae much attention. "Um... working."
"Still?"
"Yes still."
"I'm bored." The taller man sighed, cocking his head.
"I'm sorry, you're gonna be bored for a little while..."
Youngjae groaned, gently nudging Jaebeom's shoulder. "Play with me!"
"Youngjae please, I'm busy."
The hybrid huffed, almost as if he were offended, and turned away. He marched across the room back to the bed, flopping himself onto the mattress and laying with his back toward Jaebeom.
Jaebeom glanced over at him, letting out a small sigh. "Youngjae, don't be that way, I told you I was working."
He received an annoyed growl in response.
"Youngjae..." Jaebeom called again, receiving no response. He let out a sigh, setting his laptop aside and standing from the sofa to walk over to the bed. "Are you gonna pout now?"
The hybrid huffed again.
Jaebeom rolled his eyes at the bratty behavior, but he couldn't blame Youngjae for being bored. Though he was busy and had a lot more to plan out, he didn't want to completely neglect the hybrid-- the whole purpose of getting him away from the lab-- where he was ignored and left in a cage all day-- was to give him the right amount of attention and care he needed. There would be no improvement if Jaebeom just pushed him aside like all the others did.
He ultimately sighed, deciding that his work could wait for just a little while. "Fine, I'll play with you. What do you want to play?"
Youngjae instantly sat up, an eager grin on his lips. "Can we do what we did like when I touched your-"
"No!" Jaebeom quickly interrupted, his cheeks heating up as the memories of the intimate touching resurfaced. "Th-That wasn't playing it was... um..."
"If we both had fun, then I think it's playing."
"N-No it's totally different from that-" Jaebeom was suddenly at a loss for words; it was difficult to explain how exactly what they did wasn't considered 'playing' to him. "Just-- we can't do it. I'm too busy and it'll distract me."
Youngjae frowned, his lips jutting out into an adorable pout as he stood up. The hybrid took a step forward, making Jaebeom take a step back in the space between the bed and the nearest wall that was only a mere three feet or so wide, leaving him trapped.
The hybrid leaned in, wearing such an innocent look while his body language gave off a completely opposite vibe. "I like distracting you though?"
"Y-Youngjae..." Jaebeom tripped over his own words, his thumping heart distracting him for just a moment before he frantically shook himself back to his senses. "If you're not gonna suggest a real game, then I'm going back to work."
