Chapter 1

Sophie's POV

Sophie sat under Calla's tree listening to the soothing songs about a tree taking root through a rock. She arranged the beautiful Panakes petals into a circle and kept on adding layers to it until Sophie's imparter buzzed and Tiergan's name flashed on the screen, Sophie answered wondering what Tiergan was hailing her for.

"Tiergan?" Sophie asked.

"I need to talk to you Sophie. Can you meet me at my office now?" Tiergan asked. "It's about Keefe"

"I...guess so," Sophie said, confused

Tiergan blinked away after the sentence left her mouth.

"Miss Foster, you are staying right here!" Sandor's squeaky voice said.

Sophie let out a shriek as she jumped in surprise. She would never get used to how sneaky goblins were.

"Sandor you know Tiergan's house is completely safe, right?"

"Nowhere is safe for you, Miss Foster," Sandor countered.

Sophie really hated it when Sandor was right.

"If it makes you feel better you, Bo, and Flori can come with me," Sophie assured him.

Sandor gave her a hard glare. She nervously tugged on her eyelash and started counting. She was at one hundred fifty seven when Sandor said,"Fine. But I am notifying Lord and Lady Ruewen,"

He marched off to gather Bo and Flori and to tell her mom and dad where she was going. Sophie decided to go to the cliffside gate abandoning her petal circle. She opened the gate and sat down on the soft grass smiling as a gentle breeze whipped by.

"I'll see you later Sophie," Edaline shouted, making Sophie jump. Her bodyguards were right behind Edaline.

"Well that was fast," Sophie thought.

"Bye mom!" Sophie said looking at her bodyguards, "Ready?"

They nodded and joined hands as they jumped off the cliff. Sophie built up the familiar warm energy in the back of her mind and at the last second before they splattered to the ground she shoved the energy out of her mind cracking open the sky with a thunderous boom and slipped into the void.
