Chapter 16

Sophie's POV

Today is the day that Sophie and her friends were going to learn how to fight with swords. Breeze promised them a lesson today and Sophie could not wait. Sophie put on a plain short white dress and black leggings. Sophie opened the door to find Jolie in a short purple dress and light brown leggings. Jolie was in mid conversation with Sanodr when Sophie walked out of her bedroom.

"Are you ready to learn how to fight with swords?" Jolie asked Sophie.

"Yeah bring it on," Sophie said with confidence.

"Me and Mrs. Ruewen have been talking and we have agreed to let me and Bo come with you while Flori tends to the garden here," Sandor explained.

"I hope you're fine with that," Jolie said, biting her lip.

"Of course I am," Sophie responded.

"Have a safe trip," Edaline called from downstairs.

"They will be on my watch," Bo hollered back, melting out of the shadows.

"Mine too," Sandor added.

With that Sophie held up a leaping crystal up to the light and leaped away with Sandor, Bo, and Jolie.

"Well you're 30 minutes early," Tiergan's voice said.

Sophie got up and brushed grass off her cape. She looked up to see Tiergan in a gray tunic matched with black pants and shoes. His cape was black and he looked less thinner than he had when Sophie saw him in the Healing Center.

"I guess I forgot the time," Jolie chimed in brushing grass off her sleeve.

Bo and Sandor grumbled something and Sophie caught one word which was 'irresponsible'. Sophie decided to ignore it and focus on reality.

"I actually wanted to talk to Tiergan. That's why I made us come here earlier," Sophie explained.

"We can talk," Tiergan agreed.

Sophie and Tiergan left Jolie, Sandor, and Bo settling on a rock that overlooked the ocean.

"What...happened to you when my mind was broken?" Sophie asked.

"I did some very bad things to myself,"

"Like what?"

"He starved himself, barely went to sleep, and looked at the ocean all day," Breeze answered stepping onto the rock Sophie and Tiergan were on.

Tiergan scowled at Breeze. Breeze just innocently shrugged and sat down beside him.

"You really did that to yourself?"

"I did Sophie. You don't know this but you changed my life and I thought of you like family, so imagine the heartbreak I went through to find out you were broken," Tiergan's face shifted to a sad smile.

"Wow. I never thought of it like that,"

"Sorry to interrupt the moment but you need to get to the training center," Breeze interrupted.

"Umm sure,"

Breeze led her to another side of the island where the grass was extended to a small grassy plain. Jolie, Sandor, and Bo sat on the grass looking at the ocean.
