Sophie's POV

"Are you always this late?" Councillor Alina asked.

Sophie blushed, "No"

Breeze ran up to them with an urgent expression in her eyes, "Sophie you need to see this,"

Breeze tapped her head and Sophie hoped that meant to go in her mind. She pushed her consciousness in Breeze's mind and transmitted to her.

What is it?

I was rereading the Stellerlune book because you know, 'memory loss' and I found something that might be a setback. Basically there are two steps to waking up Keefe. The first part is purifying the elements and sending it into his body which wakes him up in his mind. The second part is to drag him up so you will have to SISM until he wakes up.

SISM? What's that?

It means Screaming In Someone's Mind. You have to scream in Keefe's mind until he wakes up in reality.

Ok? But why is this a 'setback'?

You will need to master the next level of Cognate training...

AND? Sophie was getting impatient.

It takes 2 years of training to finish the next level. And there is a possibility Keefe's mind could break from the SISM. But you never know, maybe you and your true love could finish it in a day or so.

ARE! YOU! SERIOUS!?

Oh and Sophie, I don't think Fitz is the one for you"

Sophie backed away with a scowl on her face. Breeze gave her an apologetic and slightly mischievous look before leaping away. Sophie looked at Mr. Forkle and he had a grim look on his face, but it was gone when he blinked again.

What did she say? Fitz transmitted.

Don't overreact but we need to accomplish the next level of Cognate training to save Keefe...

So it's just Cognate training, relax.

NO this is not a relaxing moment the training takes 2 years to accomplish.

Fitz mentally cursed and Sophie severed the line before he could say anything else that could stick in her mind.

"What is it?" Councillor Alina asked impatiently.

"A setback has slipped my notice and Miss Foster and Mr. Vacker will be helping the situation," Mr. Forkle explained smoothly.

"Must be some setback," Councillor Alina muttered, rolling her eyes.

The goblins tied a blindfold onto their eyes and Sophie felt them lift her up. She decided to name them Lefty and Righty junior if they were different goblins, as they carried her through all sorts of turns. They did a good job with the secrecy because Lefty and Righty didn't talk once as they carried Sophie through Lumenaria. When they finally set Sophie down and took off her blindfold Sophie had to stable herself against a wall so she wouldn't topple over.

"Well let's get to work," Councillor Alina said with an evil smile.

The guards opened the door in front of them and Councillor Alina strode in with the confidence. Once the guards closed the door Sophie pressed her ear to the door.
