Prologue

Nagising ako dahil sa alarm ko. It's 5:00 am in the morning. I immediately stood up and fixed my bed before anything else. I went inside the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. Pagkatapos ay pumunta muna ako sa balcony ng kama ko.

Pinagmasdan ko ang unti-unting paglubog ng buwan at ang pag-sikat ng araw. It's so relaxing! The sunrise or the sunset always make me feel at ease. It's so perfect in a very unexplainable manner. It makes me think how magical our world is.

Naligo na rin ako pagkatapos panoorin ang sunrise. Nang matapos ako maligo ay pumunta na ako sa walk-in closet para mag-bihis at mag-ayos.

Mabilis naman akong natapos mag-ayos ngunit hindi kaagad ako bumaba. It's kinda big day for me. Ngayon gaganapin ang pageant na sinalihan ko. I am used to pageants since I always join competions like this even before. But this one is not just an ordinary local based pageant. Some of the judges were famous designer, both local and international who are looking for models. And I also heard that there are talent scouts around the venue.

Ilang saglit pa ay tinawag ako ni Mommy, "Trixie, are you all set? The team is already waiting for you."

"Y-Yes, Mom. I'm coming!" I replied. I am well-prepared but still, I can't stop myself from feeling nervous. It's a big pageant unlike the contests I've joined before.

"Good luck, sweetie. I bet you will win the crown. Of course, you're a Dixon," mommy said that made even more nervous.

I didn't say anything after mommy's remark. I don't know what to say.

What if I don't win the crown?

"Hija, let's go na. You don't want to be late, of course," Ms. Rose interrupted me from overthinking.

I nodded. Nagpaalam na rin ako kay mommy, "Bye, mommy." I kissed her on her cheeks.

Pinaandar na ng driver ang makina ng van at tinungo na ang venue. I'm still nervous but my team made me feel at ease. They keep on telling jokes to make the air feel lighter. Mabilis kaming nakarating sa venue. Inalalayan nila ako pababa ng van at tinungo na namin ang backstage.

Sinimulan na ng team ang pag-aayos sa akin. They started to put light make up on my face. I don't like heavy make up since I love my face natural.
