Chapter 6 - Who Knew?

[Emmileigh]

I woke up the next morning with Donnie pressed up against my back snoring softly. I didn't even remember him coming back, which meant that I'd cried myself to sleep.

I rolled over slightly and looked at Donnie. He was still wearing his jeans and a tank top, and I was in my dress still. I tried to move out from under his arm, but he stirred, and then I saw his eyes were open.

"Hey.." He croaked out, lifting his head up. "What happened last night?"

I blinked, looking at him before sitting up. "I didn't feel well.." I whispered, looking away.

"So had nothing to do with the girls in the bar?"

I looked up at him and felt my cheeks flush.

"They came and spoke to me when I came back from the bathroom. Told me you went up to some guys room. I didn't stick around to hear what else they had to say, I already knew they must of said something to you."

I bit my lip and looked down at my hands in my lap. "They were so horrible.."

"Hmm.. and you were a little drunk. Baby, don't listen to them. Don't let them hurt you, and please don't believe the bullshit."

I shook my head. "I don't believe anything they said. It just HURT!" My voice cracked as I looked up at him. "They called me a whore and.. I guess people still talk about that article."

Donnie pursed his lips and pulled me closer. "Which is why I said we should clear that up."

"I don't want to talk about it to strangers. It's hard enough talking about it with you."

"I know.."

I snuggled against Donnie and sighed. "I'm sorry I ruined our first night without the babies.."

Donnie chuckled. "You didn't ruin anything. I was just worried."

"Promise?" I looked up at him and he smiled.

"I promise."

Nick and I woke up and headed home. Haley was still at Donnie and Emmileigh's with his mother and she said that Haley was still fast asleep. I guess being in a comfortable environment, she didn't wake up at the crack of dawn like she had been the entire tour.

We went home, where we were practically raped by two cats and a dog and I changed clothes, making an appointment with the doctor who had an opening in two hours. I didn't really want to go to the doctor, because the cramping had stopped not long after it started and Nick and I ended up spending a lovely time in the tub, but he kept telling me I needed to go just to make sure everything was okay.

We left the house and headed over to Donnie and Emmileigh's to take Haley a clean outfit and to see if they'd watch her while I went to the doctor, but as we pulled up, we saw Emmileigh and Donnie getting out of his car.

"Picking up Haley?" Donnie asked as Nick and I got out of the car.

"We were going to see if you'd watch her a little bit longer while I went to the doctor," I said as Emmileigh looked at me.

"Yeah, that's not a problem," Emmileigh said. "What's wrong?"

"Just going to go get checked out like we had talked about," I said, handing Donnie a bag with some of Haley's clothes in it.

"Why don't you two go," Nick said as Emmileigh and I looked at him. "It's girl stuff and it kind of freaks me out," he said as Emmileigh snorted. "I mean sure, when there's a baby, I'll go, but I might get weirded out with another woman lookin' at my woman's vajayjay."

"You've been watching too much 'Grey's Anatomy'," I said as I looked at Emmileigh. "You wanna go?"

"Sure, let me run and get changed," Emmileigh said as Haley ran out of the house, running up to Nick.

"Are we going home?" Haley asked, hugging Nick's neck.

"In a little bit," I said as she leaned over from Nick's arms, hugging me. "I'm going to run into town with Emmileigh for a little bit and then we're all going home."

"Why are you and Emmileigh going to town?"

"I'm going to go to the doctor for a check up and then we can stay home all night and all day tomorrow and the next few days, okay?" I said as she nodded. "Go back in and I'll bring you back some ice cream to eat when we get home, okay?"

"Okay Mama," Haley said as she ran back into the house, yelling for Lumpy.

"Just go get checked out and then we'll have sex all night tonight," Nick said as I cracked up. "And tomorrow. We'll get you pregnant before the cruise."

"Blah, blah, blah," I muttered as he kissed me, looking over to see Emmileigh walking out.

Now it was time for the doctor.
