It was Saturday night and I was at Harvelle's Roadhouse all alone again. Sam was with Jess one more night before Dad came to visit. He still wasn't happy with the idea but he was able to live with it. We saw Dad so few times through out the year now, that one week wouldn't make any difference at all.

I was eating a big greasy bacon cheeseburger with a couple beers next to me when Ellen came over.
"Hey Dean. I heard John was coming for a visit." She said.
"Yes ma'am, he sure is. Said he'd be here around noon tomorrow." I replied getting ready for another bite of burger.
"Well then why aren't you at home getting ready for him?"
That reminded me I needed to shop for some groceries in the morning but other than that, Sam took care of cleaning the house.
"Well, Sam's been out so much lately, I forced him to clean up the house and get the extra bedroom ready for Dad. I just need to do some shopping."
"Oh well, I know these visits got rough in the past so if you ever need help with anything you just call me and I'll come right over. You hear?" She wiped down the counter while giving me a quizzical look.
"Yes I hear you. Loud and clear." I smirked.
That earned me a smack to the head.
"You better learn some manners." She said and walked away to serve other customers.

I was heading out the door when I knocked into another guy.
"Sorry." I muttered and turned around to check if he was okay
"No it's okay. I wasn't watching where I was going so, I'm sorry." He said looking at the ground.
He had a trench coat on. I only saw the top of his head. He had black hair. He seemed to have a nice suit on under the coat but the tie was loose and the collar was buttoned wrong. He kind of looked like he had been kicked out of his house and had been living on the streets for a few days. I didn't think much of it.
"Alright." I said unsure of what to actually say and walked out to my Impala.

I woke up around nine the next morning and heading out to the kitchen for food. Sam was already awake for some reason. He was out late last night so I expected him to sleep in late too. I smelt bacon and saw scrambled eggs on the counter next to Sam.
"Yum. All this for me?" I asked.
"And me." He snorted back.
"Well then I'll just grab myself a plate and get out of your way then."
The bacon was cooked just the way I liked it. Crunchy.
"I'm going to the grocery store later. Wanna come?" I asked trying to make conversation.
"Yeah sure. Let's pick up a couple candles while we are out. The place kind of stinks." He said.
I sniffed the air but couldn't smell anything other than bacon.
"Can't we just get a can of air freshener for you to spray around. Candles are for chicks." I said.
"But they last longer."
"And cost more."
"Whatever. Just something to make the house smell less like crap." He said. He was not in a good mood today.
"Sam, I hope this attitude will be gone by the time Dad gets here." I said and walked to my room not waiting for a response.

After shopping I was on the couch watching tv. I checked my watch. 12:26. Dad would be her any time now. I watched tv for a couple more minutes before turning it off and going into the kitchen. I was making a sandwich when I heard the knock.
