I took the napkin from Cas. 'The White Swallow' I couldn't hold it back. I started laughing so hard. I laughed for a good five minutes. A gay bar! The bartender gave Cas the name of a gay bar! Cas was so confused as to why I was laughing. When I could breathe again, I wiped away a tear.
"Why are you laughing and crying at the same time?" Cas asked.
"Well Cas, that bartender gave you the name of a bar that tends to gay guys."
He was still confused.
"Gays. Men who like men. Limp wrists. Rump humpers. You know?"
"Oh yes. Homosexuals. I understand now. Were those names necessary? They seemed a little rude."
"Okay... Sorry. I mean, wait? Do you play for that team?" I asked.
He looked even more confused.
"Are you homosexual?" I asked extremely slowly.
"Um, I've never thought about it."
"Wow. Okay then. Let's get out of here then." I muttered.
"Thank you." I heard him say.
On the way out I swear I saw the bartender wink at Cas.We ended up going to a more normal bar. One with out strippers. We sat down and had a few beers. We sat in silence for a really long time.
"So what's up with you?" I asked. "I tried to take you out for a good time, but your stiffer than a dead person. I've seen you around and your like, always sulking or sad. Did you go through a really bad break up? Is some one close to you gone now? What is up with you?" I really wanted to know.
"It's just..." He seemed to think about it for a second. "You could say that I got kicked out of my house in a sense."
"In a sense? What's that mean?"
"It's hard to explain."
"Well then. Four shots over here!" I shouted to the bartender.
I took two of them and downed them.
"The bartender at the other place did this too."
"Well now it's your turn." I slid the other two towards him. Hesitantly he took them and downed them one after the other.
"Six more over here!" I motioned.
We sat and downed the shots.Soon enough, Cas was an open book.
"I followed my Lord with out any doubt for so long. I did whatever he said, whenever."
"Wait he talked to you?" I asked almost laughing.
"Yes. Wait. No. His orders went down the chain of demands and then to me. Kay?" He was slurring just a little bit.
I was confused to say the least.
Cas continued.
"Being an angel wasn't hard, but after a while, I realized how blind I was. I didn't ask why. I was told not to ask why."
I choked a little.
"Did you say angel?"
"Yes Dean. Follow along. There's demons and ghosts in this world among many other monsters. The humans except a handful, have a curtain over their eyes and have no idea about them. Then there's the select few that are hunters. They hunt. But they don't hunt animals, deer, moose, bird; they hunt, djinn, werewolf, demon etcetera. Kay?"
I couldn't believe it. The guy sitting in front of me that I had met only four hours ago was spilling some pretty hardcore stuff. If it were anybody else with him tonight, he'd be locked up in a looney bin by morning. He was lucky o knew about the demons and such, but Angels!
I didn't believe him. I didn't know if I could. I had spent my entire life believing in evil and the only help we got was ourselves. God didn't to fit into my world.
