Chapter Eighteen: Realisation Of Potential!
I took a deep breath and focus. I tapped into the surrounding a lot quicker this time. I felt alive. I tensed my muscles a little and BOOM! In my head, I had just created a mini sonic boom. I was running even faster than I was yesterday. At this rate I would catch up to Maya, in a matter of second. I was closing in on him. Two meters...one meter...I stretched my arm out to grab onto him but he got even faster. I tried to keep up with him but I couldn’t. I was already reaching my limit. I was getting tired and the effects were starting to show. I instantly stopped borrowing energy; the sudden change in speed sent me tumbling until I hit a rock. I was tumbling so fast the rock actually smashed. I didn’t know if it was the adrenaline or not but it didn’t hurt that much. It felt like I had been punched softly in the back.
Maya slowed down and circled back around. He mocked me.” You just got beaten by an old man in a race!” I was being laughed at but I didn’t care. I’d never felt so powerful and the smile on his face completely wiped the sorrow of yesterday away. He extended his head down at me and smiled, “Look at what you just did.” I looked at him a little surprised and then smiled. “No,” he whispered,” turn around.” I wasn’t sure if I wanted to in case it was something bad but my head immediately turned. My jaw dropped. I thought I had only smashed into one rock but I had knocked down at least a quarter of an acre worth of trees and debris. I slowly turned my head,” But-” Maya pulled me up to my feet and calmly stated, “ No, you capable of much more than this,” he then pated my back which quickly changed into a violently push, sending my hurting to the spot where I lost control. He grinded,” You have thirty minutes to clear of all the rubbish so we can carry on training. Pick up the fallen trees and toss them away. I will start on this side; let us see who can clear the most!”
Time went past quick. I was about to doubt myself and question if I could really lift up a tree so big. From the ground, I couldn’t even see the top let alone pick up and move them, but Maya gave me some words of encouragement,” Look before you act, clearly there trees are too big and heavy for you to carry alone. You are a lot faster than you are strong, you should try breaking the trees into pieces before you move them.” He was a great mentor but now I had to figure out how to break them into pieces.
