Chapter Twenty-Three: Hibernation!
A small spark lit up in by brain, I opened my eyes slightly and saw a figure pacing up and down furiously. It was Maya. I was still half asleep; my body was nowhere near ready to function again. I heard him whisper something to himself. “Oh no. What will I do? He will live, luckily but it will take him at least a week to heal. His mind and body are not functioning co-efficiently. We have only been training for two days since he got here but he has developed so much. He has been sleeping for three days already but he still needs more. If he could walk properly by the end of the week I would be happy, but that is almost impossible. I swear by the Gods, Arc! What have you done to yourself?”My eyes resealed. Not because I couldn’t keep them open but because I wanted to, in a way I was glad that I was sleeping. At least then, I wouldn’t have to deal with the guilt. He was really worried, I didn’t think he was capable of such a display but I guess he proved me wrong. I needed a miracle. I had learnt a lot in my time here and one of them was to never wait for help to come your way. If you wanted something you worked for it.

I knew it was risky but I searched deep in my heart to find that energy that I had stored before. I hadn’t used it up and by looks of it; it was sustaining itself and growing. I was going to tap into some of that power and try and spread it around me, maybe that would help me heal, but before I could act, my body shut down. My time was up.

“No! I can’t sleep now.” I didn’t want to let Maya down. I didn’t want to let my friends down and all the people like Elphis who had helped me get here. I hastily tapped into the energy but something was wrong. I visualised myself looking at the energy, like a visual manifestation of what was happening within me. I could see a lake of water, it was my energy. I was startled by the vast quantity that was within me. I pictured myself floating down towards it, I stretched out my hand to touch the water but just inches away a light manifested itself above the face of the water. “A seal?” I whispered in my head. That explained why my body just shut down when Maya hit me. He placed a seal on me to stop my power from over flowing. I was grateful but I needed that power again. I placed both my hands on the seal and pushed on it. It wasn’t too difficult to break; it began to crack as I applied more pressure until it broke into pieces and dissipated into nothing. This exhausted the last of by strength but as I faded into my own mind, I felt the energy slowly flowing around my body. I’d done it!
