Chapter Twenty-One: Limitless!
I chucked the tree further into the woods and proceeded to the rest. They may have been light but by the time I was finished I was exhausted. Once I was finished, I let go and fell onto the ground. I could feel the grass rustling against my ears, and for the first time, I noticed the colour of the sky. I was always surrounded by green leaf canopy so I never noticed till now. The way time flowed was similar to earths’. I wasn’t too sure but it felt like it was almost midday. I watched the sky for a good five minutes but I didn’t see a single cloud. I couldn’t see the sun either but I could only see a little bit of the sky so I couldn’t base all my judgment on what I saw in those five minutes. It was time to get to work. I sat up and closed my eyes. I crossed my legs and placed my arms on my lap. I took a deep breath and meditated. I could sense more life this time. Either I was getting better or the animals had returned since the noise had stopped. I wanted to impress Maya. He told me to connect and practise using my power. This time I was going to push my limits even further. I knew how to connect with one life form at a time and it wasn’t exhausting. So why not try ad connect with multiple life form?
I started off by connecting to a nearby flower, then I transferred to another then another. I just kept doing it until I could effortlessly connect and reconnect. It was tricky at first, when I tried to transfer from one flower to the other, I kept leaving my spiritual state, but I got the hang of it. I opened my eyes and realised that it was almost sunset but I still had time to practise the big finale. I was going to control multiple organisms in one go!
I took a deep breath, and focused. If I was going to pull this off properly, I was going to need all the concentration I could get. I straightened my back and tightened my muscle; I emptied my mind and flexed my brain. Doing all these things seemed to help me concentrate better. I located three life forms around me, a yellow flower, a rabbit and a bird similar to the one I had connected to earlier, it was just a little bigger. I had learnt that I could only connect with certain flowers and the smarter and more independent the animal, the harder it was to control. Calm animals were better for connecting with because they accepted my commands easily so the first step was to always calm the animal or plant. This made it a lot easier. This could be achieved by slowing my own heartbeat. I took another deep breath and calmed down all three organisms with ease. Next step, I had to match my heartbeat with theirs so we could resonate together. It was quite difficult to explain but it not too difficult to do. I simply matched all our heart beats and just like that I was connected. Connecting wasn’t too difficult but commanding each being separately was far more tricky and if that wasn’t enough I had to maintain this concentration, I simple twig snap could cause a problem.
I took another deep breath, a chilled droplet of sweat trickled down the side of my face. “I can do this,” I said to myself.
