Chapter Twenty-Nine: Midnight Woodlanders!
It was fascinating thinking about the vast quantity of talent that was chosen to be here just like me. I wanted to meet them; I wondered what types of ability my friends possessed. Had any of them already found their weapon? Maya had told me that I had to get mine soon, my natural abilities were quit unique but I wouldn’t stand a chance against another God Candidate who had a weapon. We had already lost twelve or so days and I still hadn’t attained a weapon or even began battle training. All I could do was control a few organisms and that wouldn’t help me fight at all. I had to start learning and finding new ways to process the energy that flowed through my veins.

I sat still for a good two minutes thinking about how I could channel my energy, whilst keeping an eye on my surrounding. I had finally come up with a theory, I had always been good at the collision theory, particle states and the transfer of energy and this was the perfect opportunity to put that knowledge to good use. I opened my eyes and stood up but quickly froze again. I slowly turned my head to look around me. I was surrounded by tens of glowing eyes just glaring at me.

I couldn’t move, I was petrified. I was too far from the village and I couldn’t run back or scream loud enough for help. One of the eyes began to move towards me, I took a step back try my best to stay away from the presence, but another started to walk towards me from behind. I was trapped between the two. How had they snuck up on me without me realising?

As the eyes, got closer the light from the moonlight shone upon my oppressors. The hostility surrounding them abruptly dropped. I had imagined them as horrible beasts but they were only deer. They resembled Staggs much like the ones from earth except they were bigger and they possessed large artistic horns that looked like branches. They were brown with white dots around their legs. They had large metal looking hoofs and warm hazel eyes. They walked up to me as I relaxed and bowed their heads towards me. I felt honoured and honestly surprised. I bowed back just to make a good impression. I walked towards the first deer I saw, he had a white patch around his eyes unlike the other one, he was slightly smaller too. I gently patted him whilst the other deer stood up and looked at me, as I stared closely at him, I realised he was a she and possibly the mother of the other deer. All of a sudden all the other glowing eyes stepped out into the light.

They were all of different species. Some looked like beaver and some resembled large squirrels. As I greeted them all, I felt like I was forming a bond with all of them, unlike earth it seemed like most of the animals of the forest came out at night. Soon after they all disappeared and returned to their respectable homes, leaving me to carry on with my training.
