Chapter Twenty-Two: Error!
Parts of my brain tingled; it felt as if I was awakening a new part of it. I began to feel shockwaves pulsing from all part of my body. I body was physically adjusting...no evolving to be capable of containing more power. I felt like a superhero getting a power up. I could feel energy generating inside me, I wasn’t just borrowing energy. I was converting it into my own and storing it. I used this newly discovered power to command all three life forms at the same time. I commanded them to be still and they froze. Then I told the bird to fly high and dive down, whilst the rabbit hopped in a circle and the flower danced in the wind. I could see through all perspectives and I felt omniscient.

I had literally just upgrades. I was improving dramatically with every second that passed. I felt powerful but it didn’t last long. I felt a big thud in my body, I had hit a wall. My head stared to spin but I was still in my spiritual state and connected to the other life forms. I was losing myself. My body could not keep up with the rate of which my mind was developing and my mentality was falling apart. To keep me alive it was diving into the other beings but they couldn’t hold that much power. At this rate I would be separated and trapped in their bodies until they too contained too much power and BOOM!

I felt like someone has just stuck a huge vacuum hose in my body and I was just sucking up energy; too much energy. I made a big mistake.

“Arc!” I heard Maya screaming out. I wanted to shout out and reply to him but I couldn’t. Instead my frustration was directed into the life forms I was controlling. The rabbit ran around in circles and the bird fell to the floor, even the flower began to wither. I wasn’t the only one in pain. I felt terrible, they had allowed me into their minds and I had bought nothing but suffering to them. I could sense Maya dashing towards me. “Arc! What have you done?” He stood here in panic, I had never seen him not know what to do and ‘I’ panicked. I was a buffoon for thinking I could wield such art. I sat there motionless but a tear trickled down my face. All of a sudden it all stopped.

The pain. The hurt. The frustration.

Maya had hit me on the back of my neck and knocked me out cold. I felt my mind piecing itself back together, as my body shut down. My eyes fluttered open for a split second as I fell, it was dark.

The sky was a light velvet shade. Some lights shone in the sky like stars, but I could tell that they weren’t stars. On that night, amidst all the chaos, I decided that I would use that power again.
