Sadlyeen's elation reached new heights each day; she was afraid to say it lest it be rendered untrue.

Michael occupied her thoughts all the time, every second of every minute. Unlike the puppy love from their teenage years, it was a mature, real, all things solid relationship.

The whole thing consumed and scared her all at once. It affected every fiber of her being; when he was in the same room it electrified her, when away he overwhelmed her.

Sadlyeen still needed to get through a lot but so far all was good, real good.. She'd made plans to see the shrink Jenny always raved about soon enough.   

Michael nudged her because the elevator door was open.

Lost in thought again.

She unlocked the door to the apartment and walked inside. They both paused when Michael closed the door; a noise came from the kitchen.

She grabbed a lamp stick rolling her eyes when Michael smiled. They headed to the kitchen. 

“Hey baby.” 

“Hey Kyle, missed you." She set her weapon down and jumped into his arms. 

“Me too.” He squeezed her, kissed her forehead and was about to put his lips to hers when a gruff Michael interrupted.

“You better not be about to put your mouth on my woman.”.

Kyle smiled at Sade who grinned.

He kissed the side of her mouth either way daring Michael to overreact.

In a slow very controlled manner Michael moved to her side and pulled her to him stiffly putting his arm around her.

He turned to Kyle and asked conversationally, “what have you been up to Kyle?”

“Very intense.” Kyle still smiled.

“I know, he gets dark sometimes.” She kissed Michael’s cheek who finally smiled.

“There.” She told him and put her lips to his.

“Are you always going to be here?” Michael directed at Kyle.

“Pretty much.” The best friends replied in unison and laughed.

“But I want to do nasty stuff to you on this counter.” He whispered to her. 

“You can do whatever you want to me big tiger, but later.” She promised.

“Big tiger?” he raised a brow.”

“Very big. You know you drive me crazy.”

“That makes me mad hor...”

“Alright, all right you both think you’re whispering but I can hear that shit. Also, I eat on this counter.”

“You can eat at your house.”

“Nice effort buddy but your liquor cabinet beckons. Behave children.” He left for the fore mentioned cabinet.

Later on while she sat on the bed watching Michael dress he turned and questioned her.

“You and Kyle have you ever…”

“Whaaaaaat. He is a brother to me. That being said we have, once. The day I caught you and slutty Slutson going at it.”

“I apologized for that.” He reminded.

“And I forgave you just stating facts.
After Xavier drove me home Kyle showed up. His parents were away so we went to his house I was broken, hurt and torn up and all I needed in that moment was someone to love me non-platonically so I asked and convinced him. Any more questions?” she eyed him in challenge.
