The elevator pinged as the doors opened to let Sadlyeen walk out in the ground floor where found Xavier waiting for her.
"My baby!" she squealed in delight grinning widely making Xavier roll his eyes.
"I haven't seen him for two days, give me a break."

She couldn't help but pat her hummer SUV fondly. A H3 alpha with a powerful 5.3 lv8 engine with quite the horsepower. A stunning white exterior and black interior complete with a superb in built entertainment system. Well, she had a diversified taste for things and among her crazy purchases was the huge black and white beauty.

Turning to Xavier she smiled and hugged him.
"Hi Xavier."
"Wow Sadlyeen, should I be offended you have more affection for the vehicle than you do for me." he teased.
"Oh no Zave, it's a tie between you and the ride. I just can never decide" Sade leaned on the hummer facing at Xavier.

Xavier could not help his wide grin. Of all the Argent siblings, he was most fond of Sadlyeen. Since the first day he'd met her all those years ago, they had... clicked. He was the one who took care of everything. He managed their house, finances, coordinated the staff, made arrangements for everything and sometimes played family driver. He could not resist the young girl who was not at all intimidated by his tall, built structure or the serious and brisk way he handled matters like everyone else.

She had a buoyant aura about her; teasing, playing pranks and joking with him. She'd gone to the extent of giving him a pet name which only she was allowed to use of course. It was because she'd always pushed his limits that he adored her. Sadlyeen had insisted he call her Sade with such vigor instead of the formal Miss Argent giving up when he finally settled on her full name Sadlyeen.

"Come on, lets go," he said.
"Nah-uh, keys Xavier, I'm driving."
Xavier hesitated.
"I find your driving life threatening Sadlyeen; you always seem to forget you're not on the race track."
Sade laughed, "Big, strong, fearless Xavier is afraid of my driving."
"No, my job is to ensure your safety among other things." He countered seriously.
"Oh, come on, my driving is fine." She whined.
"I actually wouldn't recommend you as a driver to anyone. You love speeding while music blares loudly. Do you even hear what goes on outside. Seriously, Sadlyeen, how did you get your driving license?" He smiled.
Putting her tongue out at him she said, "It's a rush." Taking the keys from him she kissed his cheek and climbed into the car.
"Well, get in or do you intend to walk home. My driving can't be that bad."

Shaking his head, Xavier walked to the passenger door, climbed in and put his seatbelt on in a most dramatic manner to illustrate his point. Sadlyeen rolled her eyes, putting the keys in the ignition started the car, put on loud music and turned it up. Xavier turned to her and gave her a see-what-am-talking-about look so she stepped in the gas drove off laughing.

"How's running my company going?"
Sadlyeen looked incredulously at her sister, "your company?"
Melanie grinned, 'my company, Dale's company, your company, our company, whatever. Last I remember is you running to your car shouting something about being late."
"I'll be working with 'the bastard'." Sade said trying to sound nonchalant
"Michael Greene?"

Sade smiled bitterly and popped a potato chip in her mouth making a cracking sound as she chewed.
"Any other bastard you know?" she asked matter-of-factly.
"Yeah, I do know a few bastards and jerks too but he's thee bastard. You actually agreed? After all we've been through?"
After all they'd been through? Sadlyeen was the one who had gone through the pain. She knew a lecture would follow suit.
"I had no choice Mel, my hands are tied. You think I didn't consider rejecting?"
"How did it even happen?" Melanie studied her sister as she opened a water bottle and took a long sip; she'd been out for a run.
"A client brought him in last minute."
"You couldn't just kick him to the curb?"
"No, a minor client... maybe but this, this is a major client." Sadlyeen said.
"You'll be cool?" Melanie asked wiping her mouth with the back of her hand in a most unladylike manner.

"All things considered, sure, it'll be epic."
Melanie lifted her eyebrows at Sadlyeen's tone.
"I'll be okay Mel, I doubt I'll be seeing him much. Aren't you supposed to be on vacation?" Sade raised her hands to make quotation marks in the air as she said vacation.
"I am on one right now; I don't have to go traveling the world to be on vacation." Mel replied mimicking her sister when she said vacation.
"Hey, whatever helps you figure your life." Sadlyeen smiled.
"Sade, I know you just intentionally changed the subject but if Michael is an ass to you just tell me and I'll kick his behind. I've done it before and I can do it again."
"We both have, thanks sis."
Sade gave Mel a brief hug before she left the kitchen taking her bag of potato chips with her
